I find this to be something that a lot of people deal with is they lack the motivation to build their business. They, when they're building their business, they have this idea of entrepreneurship. They've been sold. They bought into. They bought into the dream of making a million dollars. They bought into the idea of becoming wealthy. They bought into the idea of, if I do xyz, I can create an income for myself. I don't need to work for somebody else. I can have products or services that I sell. That that's what entrepreneurship is. You have value products or services that you do or facilitate the systems of doing, by the way, you don't have to do them. It's actually better when you have employees that do it for you. That's where you really step into ownership, not just working inside your business and it produces a full time income for you. But I see many people come to me and they say, jeremiah, I lack the motivation to build my business. I lack the drive to get up every day. Oh, and it's been five years since I started this journey and I haven't made a dime of money. I've been doing xyz, I've been trying to do all this stuff, but when it comes down to it, when I don't see results right away, I give up. I feel like I can't go on. If that's you, if you feel burnt out by doing all the things in your business, give me a hands up, let me know if that's you. We're going to talk about that today. And I want to help you guys with this. It's something I've been really diving into and researching lately, because I dealt with it a little bit in my life, and a lot of my clients were dealing with this. Is this lack of motivation, this lack of drive being the reason why they're not building their business? They don't feel up to it. They don't feel excited about it. They have a little bit of excitement and then it dies down. They have a little bit of drive and then it's disappears. Life comes in. They're not seeing the results quick enough, and so then they give up and then they hop to. Another idea. Is this. Is this you? Listen, I. I think that if you haven't experienced this, you probably haven't been in business long enough. First off, at least once in your whole business journey, I'm sure you've experienced this. Everybody does. But then there's a crossover that happens, and this is how we can break past this. And I am hoping by the end of this podcast episode that you get breakthrough to where this is no longer an issue for you. My goal is that if you can listen to this, that you will receive a transformation to where lack of motivation to build your business is no longer something that you even think about, worry about, say, use as a reason or believe is going on in your life. If you're ready for you to finally be past this, this is for you. If you're not ready to finally be past this, I would invite you to possibly give up on the dream of entrepreneurship. I know that sounds harsh, but you're not going to ever be successful by not getting past this. It's literally 100% of the time impossible. I mean that kindly, but it's, It's. It's completely impossible for you to ever be successful if you're not going to do the work to build a business. It's like one plus one equals two. It's that simple. Okay? So I don't, I don't. I don't mean that any harsh way. It's just the reality of life is that we have to get to the place where we are doing the activities, where we are doing the actions of building our business. If you want to produce a result, you have to plant the seed, you have to sow the seed, you have to water the seed. If you're wanting to produce something, as a business owner, you have to do the work. Okay? And so that's a big part of it is, is that you can't expect a result without doing the Work. I see a lot of people, they want to get rich. Maybe they marry rich. Maybe they had a family that was rich. Maybe everything's been handed to them in life. There's certain situations like that, right? And maybe that's what you want. Maybe the reason why. I'm not saying this is for everybody, but there might be some thought process in your head that you just want the results without doing the work. And that's a big part of it. Okay? And so first off, we have to realize that if you weren't born into those situations, if you're not marrying into a situation, you're gonna have to actually do the work to get there. You're gonna have to actually do the activities. Okay? And really, what beats motivation? Here's the biggest thing. I'm not motivated most days to build my business. I was not motivated this morning, Saturday morning, at 10am to record this podcast episode. I have zero motivation to do this right now, by the way. And yet discipline and personal accountability and responsibility, that's what gets me up. You see, the pain of me not doing the activities is more than the pain of me doing it. And we have to realize that we have to get to that place where we are no longer making reasons for why we can't do everything. Lack of motivation. And we start to develop the personal accountability, the personal responsibility, the personal discipline to do hard things when we don't want to do them, when we have zero motivation to do them. Every single person who is a successful entrepreneur, from the beginning of time to the end of time, and this is. This is about where I'm going to lose people on this podcast episode. People are going to drop off because they don't want to hear the truth. That's okay. They can deny it as long as they want. That's fine. Unfortunately, people will never move past this until they realize the truth. Every single successful person did it without motivation. Every successful entrepreneur did it without feeling motivated and amped up and excited. They did it through personal accountability and self discipline when they had zero motivation, when they had zero desire, or when they had zero drive to do it. And so, A, I want to say this. Entrepreneurship is not for everybody. If you're at the place where you lack the drive to build a business, where you lack the motivation, like the discipline, and you just don't want to, maybe entrepreneurship isn't cut out for you. Maybe you're not the type of person that it's made for and you have this nice, cute idea of entrepreneurship in your head, but in reality, you're not willing to do what it takes. And you would do much better to lay that dream aside, to lay that it's really a fantasy, because fantasies aren't reality. And so the fantasy of getting rich without doing work aside and go work for somebody else, who's going to tell you what to do. You see, as an entrepreneur, you have to be the one that tells yourself what to do. You're not going to have a boss that shows up every day that says do this. I don't have anybody that shows up in my life and says Jeremiah, do this, that and hounds me and make sure that I'm doing my work. When you work at a job, you got a manager that does that. Oh, and by the way, it's really expensive if you want to hire a coach to do that every single day for you. Most coaches are about 500 to $1,000 an hour. And so if you need somebody to hold you accountable and you don't learn personal accountability, personal responsibility of holding yourself accountable and developing the self discipline to do it. When you have zero motivation to do the activities when you don't feel like doing them, you won't be successful as an entrepreneur. This is one of the number one things to develop. You see, lacking motivation, motivation is fleeting. It disappears. It's not supposed to be around all the time. You want to know what motivation is? I'm going to blow some of your minds. Motivation is actually just chemicals in your body and you get this excitement, chemical. Kind of like when you, when you see an attractive person or you fall in love for the first time and you get excited about it, you get this is amazing. And then you go after it. But it's fleeting, it disappears. It's kind of like in a marriage relationship, if I don't work towards loving my wife every single day, that, listen, that, that motivation that I had seven years ago when I met her, it's still there. The spark is still there. And I'm so thankful for it. I mean, it's still there, but like the, the just the drive, like I'll do anything for you type thing that you feel when you first meet somebody. Like in reality, if you've been in a, in a relationship, you know that that doesn't last every single single day. So you have to have discipline and personal accountability. That and it's the exact same thing in business that, oh my gosh, I would do anything to be rich. I would do anything to be successful. Listen, I have seen people firsthand, listen to me here. Go from zero to multi. Millionaire. I have experienced it firsthand, seeing and building companies, going from zero to multimillionaire. But it was always due to activities, making the time in the day instead of being subject to our feelings, instead of being subject to our emotions, choosing what we wanted. Now here's one of the biggest things and I really feel bad for the people that dropped off of this episode because they didn't want to hear the rest of what I had to say because I was actually going to give. I'm going to give some actual strategies to help you develop that discipline. One of the biggest ones is self love, self gratitude, believing in yourself, saying, hey, listen, I'm amazing and I can accomplish anything and starting to be your biggest cheerleader and encouraging yourself and self care and taking care of yourself. See what it does? It allows your brain to, to rest enough to where you're not in fight or flight all the time. And you've given it enough time to recalibrate itself to where then you can operate in self discipline. One of the biggest strategies when you lack motivation to develop self discipline is to take some time off. It's incredible. It actually is. Now don't make that your habit of always taking time off because then that's not doing anything. But strategically, if you do it for, for self care, if you do it and you start believing, listen, I'm incredible. I have a plan and a destiny for my life and nothing can stop me. And you stop living in the belief that your worth and your value is tied to how much you perform or produce. You shift out of this thinking that your worth is tied to what you do, what kind of outcomes you produce, and you believe in yourself just having the foundation of who you are. Starting today, I fully believe in myself. I fully believe that I can accomplish anything. Not beating yourself up anymore. Listen, your brain will automatically go to being negative, beating yourself up, overthinking, overanalyzing and coming up with the worst scenarios without your help. So what you got to be intentional to is the opposite of that. And this is what helps develop self discipline. You discipline yourself towards self care, positivity, controlling your emotions. And if you really, really struggle with that, if it's been maybe a couple years and you've struggled with that, that was me. Therapy. Professional help from a therapist is one of the best ways to help you with this. I met with a therapist every single week for six months to work through these issues. Why? I was constantly reacting emotionally to everything. A year ago, I was constantly reacting emotionally to everything. My wife and I had a conversation this morning. She's like, yeah, you, you haven't emotionally reacted to anything in. Since you met with a therapist. And so that was. That was huge for me. Right? And so really, what it boils down to, lack of motivation to build your business, lack of self discipline is a lack of an ability to control our emotions. And we become controlled by our feelings because then we're saying, until I feel motivated enough, I won't react and act to build my business. It's literally a result of not having control of your emotions and instead being controlled by them. Is that lack of self discipline because you're waiting until you feel a certain way to do what you need to do. And so that's why, yeah, a therapist helped me in that once I was no longer operating in that way. And I was saying, okay, I'm building my business because I want to, because I'm disciplined, because I'm taking personal accountability, personal responsibility. Nobody is responsible for me showing up every single day to build my business but me. I'm not blaming anybody else. Nothing in my outside circumstances is the reason why I can't, except for my own choices. And when we start to believe that, when we start to really live that, when we start to live in accountability, personal responsibility, and self discipline, we're no longer at the whims of, well, am I feeling up to it today? Well, am I feeling like it? Or I'm not feeling like it. And listen, I get it. Trauma, pain, experiences, loss, grief, all this is real, my friends. I get it. And you got to go through the process. But the thing is to not sit in the process. I am a huge proponent of you healing from what broke you instead of sitting in it. Listen, it's not your fault what happened to you, but it is your responsibility to heal from it. And until you do, you'll keep experiencing the same things that you have been, where you struggle to have motivation, where you struggle to discipline yourself, where you struggle to do the things that you need to do because you just don't feel like it. For you to be a successful entrepreneur, for you to build your business. I'm talking to business owners, entrepreneurs here, people that are bringing value to the marketplace and selling products or services to others. Okay? For you to successfully do that and get to a place where you make a million dollars, because that's the goal that I have for every single person that's listening to this podcast, as I believe that you can make a million dollars. That every single person, if you're listening to this podcast, if you've listened and have stuck it out to the end of this that you do have the potential to make a million dollars if you work on yourself, if you do the activities, if you stay focused, not motivated, but you self motivate yourself, you find what motivates you, you find other things that motivate you than just find feeling motivated. You learn to develop that in your self care, you learn to stay disciplined, you learn to take personal responsibility. If you do this and then you apply it to a proven system which the courses on my website are a proven system of how we've helped business owners make millions of dollars through the Internet and I sell them for less than 100 bucks on my website. If you apply those to a proven system, you can become financially successful through the Internet. I truly believe it because I've literally seen it and experienced it myself with so many people. But the choice is yours. At the end of the day, you're the one that has to decide. Am I going to let my feelings dictate what I do today or am I going to choose to do what I need to do, discipline myself and take personal responsibility even when I don't feel like it? Am I going to choose to get the help and the healing that I need for me to operate at my highest potential? Are you choosing to elevate yourself to operate in your highest potential? Or are you just choosing to go by the motions, by the swingy, wingy dingy of what you feel like? That's, that's really what it is. You either choose to create your life or your life will create you. And so if you're somebody that's just waiting for motivation, your life will always create you. You will always be controlled by how you feel, by what happens. The only, only, only way out of that is to develop self discipline, to do the activities when you don't feel like it, to take personal responsibility for your life, to start caring for yourself, to start loving yourself enough to say I'm worth it to heal, I'm worth it to take care of myself. I'm worth it to show up for myself, for mine and my family's future. When you choose that, everything changes for you. What are you going to choose today? That's up to you. You can either stay where you're at, keep experiencing the I'm just not motivated to build my business. I just don't have the feelings of doing the stuff to get wealthy and maybe one day I'll feel up to it. Or you'll choose to do the work, you'll choose to go through the process. Oh, and by the way, you might not see results for five years. And you accept that fact and you love that fact. And you lean into that fact and you figure out how to accelerate that timeline. And you get out of your head the fantasy of get rich quick. You get out of your head the fantasy of I'm just going to get wealthy by doing nothing or by doing the bare minimum. You get out of your head this belief that you've been sold by marketers that have lied to you, and you start doing the activities, going through the process every single day and disciplining yourself to do what hurts, to do what isn't fun, to do what you're not motivated for. That's what produces results. Nothing else. My friends, it's up to you. Now listen, I'm sure this inspires a lot of feelings, a lot of emotions, a lot of reasons why you either can't or can or usually once you get to this place, you're gonna come up with other reasons. Okay? And I love talking with people through that. One of the big ones is why I have all these obligations. That's usually the next one. I have all these things I'm supposed to do for other people. Boundaries is key. Got a couple episodes on Boundaries on my podcast already where I've talked about that, where I've dove deep into boundaries, learning to say no when everybody else around you wants you to do things so that you can create and design your life and you're not controlled by other people's opinions. And that'll help you do that as well. And that's a skill that you also need to develop as a business owner. Listen, if this has helped you, I'd love to talk with you. I'd love to connect with you.
