It features Jeremiah Krakowski as the sole main speaker discussing the current state and future of the Metaverse, virtual reality, augmented reality, and related technologies. Jeremiah shares insights on devices like Meta Quest 2, Project Cambria, and companies shaping the Metaverse such as Meta, Nvidia, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft. The episode also covers the importance of influencing technological development and opportunities for business and education in this evolving space.
Hey, everyone, thanks for listening to the Grow youw Life podcast. If you haven't met me yet, my name is Jeremiah Krakowski, and I've been building businesses online for the last 19 years. I've been helping online entrepreneurs, authors, trainers, course creators, people that have a message that they want to get out, reach their target customer. And we've helped people build businesses to over $20 million. And so today, I want to talk about the Metaverse again. This is an update on the Metaverse. I did a few episodes about this a while back, some blog posts, and so I'm just going to share with you some of my thoughts on where it's headed, where things are going, and. And maybe some areas that we should be. Be cautious, you know. So to start, I put a. A blog post on my website this week. If you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out here over@Jeremiah Krakowski.com. you can see my website right here. You scroll down and it says, human batteries powering a communist Metaverse. Why we must influence the Future of Technology for Good night. I break down just kind of why this is something that we, A, we need to be aware of. B, there's some negatives here. There's some negative connotations. If you ever watch Ready Player One or the Matrix or Ghost in a Shell, this is. This is science fiction has been pointing to this, this idea that people could plug into machines and essentially they live out their whole lives in these pods, like batteries. And it's a crazy thing. I break down how free speech is important and how we should be influencing the space, right? We should be influencing the spaces that we are experiencing in our lives that we see things happen. And that's ultimately where it is. I believe we all have a mandate for the good people in the world to make as much money as possible, get as wealthy as possible, that there's a lot of business that's going to happen in the Metaverse and that we must learn to do business the Metaverse, we must influence the development of technology. And then this inspired me to make a. Another post about how to start your kids and teens with computer programming. Some of the best resources that they can use to learn, that are designed for kids to be able to learn computer programming, and that the next generation is going to have opportunities for themselves if they learn this type of stuff, as well as some more advanced resources that I recommend. Some of the best training courses and programs that are extremely affordable, extremely easy to follow, that walk you through step by step, pretty better than a College education for coding and learning how to code. All these different resources for you over at my website on the blog. Okay, so here's the thing though. The Metaverse, back in the 1990s, the Internet and the World Wide Web sort of came to be. If you, if you remember that time we had dial up Internet, people had websites, and you connected by dialing up. In the future, you're going to log in by logging into a system of some kind where you're experiencing the world, rather than just watching a screen in front of you or looking at a screen on your phone. The screen itself is not going to be on this phone. It's not going to be like this. It's not going to be like this computer monitor right here that you guys that are seeing me on, where I'm recording. See, so I have, I have, I have a number of screens right here at my desk. We got my computer monitor, we have my iPad, we have all that right there live. And so. But in the future, it's going to be more similar to a pair of glasses where you sort of put these on and the world is different in front of you through that. That projects an image into your eye, or you have a contact lens or even maybe some kind of optical surgery of some kind where you can see differently on and off, like a switch with a computer. One of the best examples of that we have right now, the Meta Quest 2. Okay, so I got this around Christmas time, I got the meta quest 2 and I've been loving it. It's a virtual reality experience by Meta, where I get to, basically I put this headset on, it straps on like this. And now I'm, I'm in a virtual world. Like I'm seeing a tree over there and a, a chair right there. And beyond there is some mountains. Okay. And so I see that inside of this right here while I'm looking around as if I'm actually there. Understand that. So now there's going to be a new technology coming out called Project Cambria. Project Cambria is, was just announced by Mark Zuckerberg, the next iteration of the Oculus headset. And what it includes is full pass through video, where this right here, these cameras are for sensing and these little cameras sense the controller in your hand. In the new one, it's going to have two large cameras and, and something similar to the HoloLens where you can actually see through it. And it's going to be an augmented reality or a virtual reality where it can kind of turn on and off like A shutter. So you have like this mini half helmet that you can see everything in the world around you. You have this augmented reality and you have this VR. And this is coming out later this year. Okay, so that's coming out. It's really cool. Augmented reality meta quest. Let me see here we have some vision images. So the idea is where you. You sort of have this headset on and you can see what's in the room with you while you're using it, as if there's stuff in the room with you. Augmented reality.
Okay.
Now there's a. There's a tool as well that's being developed. It's called Mind. Mind Link VR. I think it's Mind Link something. Something like that I posted on my social media the other day. Let me find where it is right here. It's where it connects to the back of your head and it uses your brain waves to control a computer.
Okay.
So it goes to the back. This exists right now. This is not sci fi. This is not something that might exist in the future. This exists right now where you can talk, where you can connect, where you can, you can give commands with your brain waves in virtual reality.
Okay.
And just like we use a computer mouse like this, the peripherals of the future of the metaverse are going to look a lot more like that. They're going to be to where we can experience as if our physical body is in the world, to where it's almost no different. There it is right here. It's called, it's a mind control app.
Okay.
And the company that makes it. Let me see here on this video. The Next Mind. That's what it is, the Next mind. And so this video is here on YouTube and he's using this connected to the back of his head. It goes on the back here goes on the back of the headset. And he's literally controlling, focusing on the teleportation, what he's doing with his brain in this video, if you're watching on the YouTube version, you can see this.
Okay.
And so then there's this other one where he can, he can bounce around and move this little character with his mind in 3D space. He's doing all that with his mind.
Okay?
So anyways, that's where things are headed with, with all of this. Now there's that. This is just the technology we have today. Right now there's companies that are working to make this technology faster, more affordable, cheaper, higher quality graphics, more lifelike, more realistic bodysuits that you can wear you where you can feel stuff that you strap into, like a glove that gives you experiences as if you're in the meta world.
Okay.
And so that, my friends, is, is. Is where we're headed with this technology as well. With advances in artificial intelligence, we're seeing to where in these virtual reality worlds, you may see, you could talk to a character that's really an AI and you think it's a person, and you can't tell that it's not.
Okay.
That technology exists already through what Open AI is doing, as well as DeepMind over at Google. I think DeepMind was with Google. I'm not sure if they still are. Yeah, they were acquired by Google. Yep. Deep mind researching about how to communicate the way a human would with AI.
Okay.
And we use a tool called Jasper AI to do a lot of copywriting for our marketing. Understand? So, so with this, we have these tools like this right here. We have DeepMind, we have open AI. This is what I was showing people right here. Artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality, and then quantum computing. Quantum computing is basically where you take how fast a computer is right now and you increase that by a gazillion beyond anything that has ever existed. And that is what creates more lifelike experiences like that. It'll solve problems. And this can lead to the issue of, you know, a virtual digital super intelligence of some kind, which can be a problem, which is something that we should be aware of. You know, there's, there's a series. We've seen this in, in the Matrix. We see this in this movie, Ghost in a Shell, all about what would happen. We see that in Westworld. What would happen if AI got so smart that it actually ruled the planet and became our, our leader or our God. Right? These are things that people talk about. And that it would become so powerful that that's what would happen. Now that's not to be scared of. That's to say we should be aware of all this. We should know what the potential is, and we should influence the space instead of destroying it, saying like, oh, we need to make sure it never happens, my friends. It's already happening. You would have had to stop the last 200 years of progress in technology completely, and you probably still wouldn't have prevented this from happening. Okay, so, like, realize that instead of being angry and, and, and dying an angry person, that could have made a difference in the world. Ask yourself, how can I influence this? That's why I think that having kids learn about programming is so important. That's why I think that having people Wholesome people creating comic books and stories and movies and teaching and sharing in the world instead of hiding out and saying that we're avoiding studios like Disney and Netflix. Disney has already said that they are building their own Metaverse. The former CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, is invested in a company called Genies that creates your digital avatar to go do this type of stuff. They. They could have digital movies where you experience much like their theme parks. In the Metaverse, you experience a movie, you're in it for an hour, 30 minutes. Whatever you go in, you experience it. They already have this right now. Disney has already done this with a little. A little app series that they call Vader Immortal, okay? And so Vader Immortal is Disney taking one of their assets that they own of Star Wars. And you are in the Star wars experience in virtual reality, okay? And so as you play it, you put this on, you grab a lightsaber and. And you. And you see these people, and you see these enemies in front of you as if you were actually in that world. See? And so as stuff gets more and more progressive and the quality gets even crazier and better, behind all of this, this is where the future is headed, my friends. This is where the world is changing, the way that we communicate. If I could communicate with augmented reality and have a friend sit on the couch, you might be able to have a Metaverse podcast where I actually can come into your room and we end up talking together, where I'm talking with you like this. You know, I might create a room in the Metaverse where I launch every week. I do the podcast and I go in there and I have my little avatar while I'm doing the podcast, while I'm recording it in the Metaverse. Sky's the limit. But we have to choose, my friends. Are we gonna let the companies, Apple, Amazon, Facebook create this world for us? Even Elon Musk announced Tesla is gonna have a smartphone, which points to. Logically, along with the Twitter acquisition, this is another path to virtual reality and a future with his neural link project. None of, like, none of this is by accident. Don't pretend like this happened overnight either. This has been going on for years. Books like Snow Crash, which was written in 1992, talked about this world. Movies like the original blade runner in 1982 talked about these types of worlds and experiences. And we're living it right now, where science fiction is becoming science reality. See, we all thought that flying cars was going to be the thing, like the Jetsons, right? Everybody thought the Jetsons, the flying Cars and stuff. That was going to be what reality was going to be now. Well, basically what's progressed is how we communicate with other people. Has progressed, has grown, has turned into these types of virtual worlds like the Matrix or Ready Player One or Ghost in a Shell. The city in their Cyberpunk 2077 cyberpunk right here. This type of stuff, my friends. Virtual worlds where people can have surgeries done to improve their body. To jump in and out of the virtual world to where we're, we're sifting in and out of it constantly. The way that we scroll on social media, on our smartphones, that's where things headed. Do you know how to build business in that? How do you do that? Well, it's built around people. The more people that use it, as everybody understands it, we will need different businesses and there's a few business models that can exist right now. Right now there's a guy, he's creating a TV show that is a courtroom drama called Metacort. Okay, so Metacort is on TikTok and he does these live courtroom dramas where you come into Metacort and they have these cases for it. King Ali is the father and K Money is the mother. And these are, these are actual TV shows that people can watch and log into. In the metaverse, we're going to have where virtual actors can act out, you can have experiences, you'll have conferences, training courses, ways that you teach and interact with people. How we do business, how we deliver our products, is going to leave the zoom screen, leave the cell phone and the computer, and this is going to change the way that we do the Internet and the way that computing is done forever. And so when we can teach and we can enter into these experiences and we're able to, to share an experience with other people and, and connect closer together, that's how business is going to happen. That's how if you're a course creator, if you're a coach, if you're a trainer, if you're somebody who is wanting to impact people, if you're wanting to, to teach and to share what's on your heart, you want to learn how to connect with, get into the metaverse. And one of the fastest ways to do that is you, you go on Amazon, you purchase a meta, a meta quest 2 or maybe wait for the next one to come out. But you, you grab one of these. They're about 300 bucks on Amazon. You know, I'm actually going to put a link to this in my description of this post in My description of this, but on Amazon you can grab one, you know, just to play around. Just grab the, the 301 and try it out. Play the Star wars game, play the fighting game, play the workouts. I do workouts where I get to see how she's smashing the little balls. I do that where I smash these balls and stuff in the morning with the meta controller. So if you've been wondering a way maybe to get some fitness in doing this type of stuff, my friends, is. Is going to be exciting for you.
Okay.
And then as you do that.
You.
Know, check out Horizon Worlds. So Horizon Worlds is the, the, the Metaverse product that Facebook has created where it's a. Basically you can log into these different worlds and you can, you can experience and talk with people. You get to step into a virtual world and, and, and really, you know, this is how it looks. You log into Meta.
Welcome to a place of limitless possibilities.
And then that's you in a world. You can create things, creating entire worlds. So this exists right now in the meta quest 2. See what I'm saying?
And work with others.
You can connect with actual people in it. You walk around, your little character walks around.
Find your community.
You can have communities, you can have connected places right now in the Metaverse, people that get along different tribes.
So bring your vision, your artistry, your genius who build a cat boat, and together we can build Horizon.
Let's see it. So that's, that's Horizon Worlds right there. They have Horizon work rooms, which is specifically for, for business. You can have business meetings to replace Zoom meetings through these types of workplace experiences as well. There's other apps like Old Space VR, which is also in. On the, on the Meta Quest 2. They have other different worlds in there. VR chat is another one right here. These virtual worlds that you can jump into and basically become anybody, talk with anybody. They exist right now that you could jump into and all. And for free. This stuff exists for free. These apps are free. Just by owning one of these. I can log into one right now.
Okay.
And so the, the main Metaverse, the reality of the Metaverse is, is unfolding faster than I think most people realize. One of the number one driving companies behind it is the, the work of basically three different companies, Meta, of course, Facebook. But the three different companies kind of to take a look at are Nvidia, because they create the chips and what powers the Metaverse, right? So Nvidia is really big Qualcomm. They create the chips that power these types of applications. Video, their snapdragon platform and amd, AMD with their gaming processing. Okay, okay. So gaming processing is becoming enterprise level. Metaverse business processing.
Okay?
And so listen, if you're watching this, if you're on Instagram, I'm doing a screen share over on my YouTube, my Facebook and Twitter and the podcast is going to be up on Monday, you can watch this. But these companies are the ones that are, that are shaping this world. So you got amd, you have Qualcomm, you have Nvidia, you have Meta Facebook, that's creating the, the devices. Then you also have Disney, Amazon and Apple.
Okay?
And Microsoft. Those four companies are. And Sony, my God, gosh, five companies are huge players. So Sony already has their PS5. Sony is doing PS5 VR later this year. They've already had VR in their, in their, their previous platform. Very similar to the Quest, but they have huge quality graphics on the PS5. I got my PS5 controller right here. I play my PS5. I'll probably end up getting that. Because the highest quality, easiest to set up VR system that's going to exist as well. Then Microsoft, they have a system and they acquired Activision Blizzard recently. They're creating their Meta world, their Metaverse world around their Xbox. Okay, so the Xbox is going to become a Metaverse type platform. Right here we have Amazon, which owns, owns Amazon Luna and Twitch. Okay, so Luna is a cloud gaming service. And think of cloud Metaverse to where this is a wireless system that you don't have to be connected to the Internet, that you can log in anywhere through the cloud and have access to the highest quality virtual reality. They have some games like Amazon New World that are massively multiplier MMOs where you can go into like a fantasy world. Then these are what the graphics look like. Extremely lifelike, extremely vivid. They don't have this in VR yet, but I would bet that they're gonna have a streaming VR version of this type of game very shortly and that is going to change everything. And then they own Twitch. So Twitch is basically streamers, people that are streaming their video gaming online on these platforms. Okay, so they, Amazon owns, owns Twitch and so these companies as well as Apple, Apple has been saying that they're going to be doing their own Metaverse and VR project products. Apple V, yeah, it says that they're happy to let the Metaverse pass the buy, but they've been talking about creating a VR headset for a while now because their platform is, is able to use it and they know that, hey listen, maybe we're not going to play in the metaverse, but we need people to log into it, right? So they're not going to be really big on that, but maybe they're going to focus on what they're really good at is creating great hardware to log into these different platforms.
Okay.
So that's where, that's where this is all headed, my friends. That's where this is all, all going is. And this is, that's why we're already there, really. Like, this is not simply the future. This is now. This is today, May 1, 2022. I can log in after this and play some virtual ping pong or, or crawl a dungeon and defeat foes and characters, or jump into a virtual nightclub and, and party with people through something like this, or have virtual screens and do work in front of me. If we run away from this type of stuff, where is the world gonna be? Good, good people like you need to influence that space and make a lot of money and influence the people around you to be able to create in this space, not just to let these companies or go get jobs at these companies. Go get jobs at these companies and influence the space around us. Choices ours, my friends. Grow your life, everybody. We'll talk soon. Have a good one.
