Thanks for listening to the Grow youw Life podcast. If this has helped you share it with somebody, share these episodes. There's episodes that talk on a variety of topics and if any of them have helped you share it with somebody, just tell them, share it on Facebook, Instagram, text message, whatever. We can help more people by getting these messages out to more people. I want to help people grow in their life and their business. This podcast is to do just that, to grow in life and in business. You know, last week I talked about your life, finding your why in a more unconventional way. This week I'm going to talk about setting up your social media profiles properly. This is something that people have been asking me for on my Facebook group. They've asked me for for a while. And I see a lot of people, they've been doing marketing, advertising, sales, they have goals for years and yet they still set it up wrong. They've even been told to do it the wrong way. But they believe for some reason that them getting started, that they know better of what's going to work better than them, than those that have done it for years. And so what I want to do is I want to dispel some myths. I want to get some clarity on what works with setting up your social media profiles. This isn't going to be like a how to click here, all that. This format is specifically around audio, visual and so the visual portion is on, is on YouTube. But I'm not going to like pull it up with a screen share or anything. None of that actually matters. You can find all that info just by looking it up, googling it, etc. This is more the concepts of what the purpose behind your social media is, how to best reach people and setting it up the right way, which has nothing to do with the actual click here, do this, do that. So if you are curious about doing that, there's plenty of great videos on YouTube, there's plenty of great stuff on Google. You can look up how to make a Facebook page, how to make an Instagram page, how to make this, how to make it a business page, how to do that. This isn't about that part of it. This is about the next part of it where a lot of people get messed up and they actually do the wrong things for years out of, for whatever reason because one person told them to do it this way, another told them to do it this way, and they're like, well, I can, I can reach more people that way. The biggest one that I see, the biggest mistake that people make is with their Facebook. Instagram is a little bit harder to make these mistakes. So specifically I'm going to lean into Facebook and then connecting them. Gary Vee said something powerful the other day. I agree with it. In 2019, if you're not completely going all in on Facebook and Instagram, you're going to be left behind after 2019. So I specifically want to help you set up your Facebook and Instagram. I will also talk a little bit about YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn. I haven't done much myself with Pinterest, so I'm not going to talk about that. There's other resources about setting Pinterest up right. But I am going to help you at least set up your LinkedIn profile, your YouTube profile, your Facebook, your Instagram and your Twitter and your. Yeah, all of those. Those are the ones that I use the most. If you go to my website, scroll to the bottom, it says start a conversation with me on social media. You can actually follow me on all those. So, so the first step of this is if you to. To understand the philosophy that I'm gonna teach here, go follow me on all those platforms. If you're not following me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn, go do that. Right now. Just go to my website, Jeremiah Krakowski.com youm can click the link either in the post, you can click the link on this or just take my name, type it in, you can look me up on those platforms, scroll to the bottom and it says start a conversation with me on social media. And you'll be able to find all media platforms that way. And then you can follow me on each of those to see how I use them. How I use them specifically is based on knowledge of what works. And it is the same for everybody getting started. So what I'm going to talk about here can be taken pretty much as law for those getting started. Now, how you use those platforms changes across each one. This topic is not on the topic of using those social media platforms to get the most results. I did a video on my social media on that. I am also still studying what is working and what's not. The biggest thing I can say is consistency, consistent content. At least one piece of content on every platform every single day is the best way because you're at least in front of people every day. Bare minimum, you need to at least do that. So that's the most I'm really going to give on that topic right there. But setting them up right is where I see a lot of people. They set it up wrong in the beginning because for whatever reason, most of the times it's usually the one on Facebook is people. Usually they're like, well this is why I did that. And their reasons are always short sighted, they're always short term and then they end up kicking themselves in the long term and then have to take longer to get it right because now they have to fix the mistakes they made in the beginning. So this. If you already have something that's set up and it's not set up the way that I talk about on this, you need to go set it up the way that I'm talking about on this and move everything over as quickly as possible regardless of what you think is going to happen. Because eventually you're going to have to do this anyways or else you're going to just stop building your business on social media. Facebook and Instagram are the number one places to interact with human beings right now. YouTube is great. Twitter and LinkedIn, they're all used for different purposes. So let's talk about LinkedIn for example. Specifically business. Business to business, executive to executive. Helping people find jobs or connect with jobs and business owners. That's what LinkedIn is about. LinkedIn's advertising platform is actually pretty cool. It's starting to compete with Facebook and Instagram as far as they. They got pixels, they got retargeting ads. So does Twitter now, so does YouTube. Everybody now has retargeting ads. You can basically have. If somebody visits your website in a landing page you can view what's called omnipresent. What's his name? I use that term for the first time, I forget, I forget his name. Scott Somebody. But anyways, omnipresent just means you're on every platform. So they visit you, you're on every platform. No matter where people see you, you're there. A new one that's popping up is also Tick Tock. I haven't really done much with that, but I do have a Tick Tock profile. If you're on Tick Tock, go check me out on there. It's a Jeremy Crack as well at J E R E M Y K R A K which is an abbreviation of my last name. But LinkedIn is for connecting with business owners specifically around business related content. Executive B2B or job seekers. YouTube is a video only platform meaning mainly long form videos. 5 minutes or longer if your video is shorter than that, maybe three minutes and it makes sense. But not for like don't put your just your little quotes from Instagram and Facebook on YouTube if you do that, it kind of looks silly. YouTube is best used specifically for like full pieces of content that you want people to engage with. Which is why for now, because it's just me doing everything. I'm moving all my content From Facebook to YouTube and then these podcasts are hosted on there. So the only way to get my visual version of my podcast is YouTube, which also directly correlates to why that is my most watched piece of content. YouTube is best used for exclusive pieces of video content that can only be accessed on YouTube. If you're talking about other video platforms, I best prefer those for like paid or exclusive video content like Wistia or Vimeo. Again, this is not a conversation about which platforms to use and how to use them, et cetera. It's about setting up these first five properly. The first five social media platforms that you need to be on if you are building a business are LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. And then Pinterest also follows. I think we're going to start doing a Pinterest strategy for me, my wife is a lot better at that than I am and so that's why I'm on these. But Pinterest is a great place if you like it, set that one up as well. But I'm gonna Talk about these five right now. LinkedIn to set that up. We'll talk about that. We'll talk about YouTube. Twitter is basically the anti LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. It is basically an open cocktail party for the Internet. That's what Gary Vee also said. He. Gary Vee's got like great stuff. So you always see me talk about how he references certain things all the time. The way he describes things is really, it's really unique and easy to grab onto. I also like his content creation map that he has on his website. I did a simplified version of that on one of my videos as well, where I talked about that and if I'll put that in the description of this on my, on my, my page description video. Social media, Gary Vee. I gotta remind myself of that. I don't have an assistant that's doing that stuff. I'm doing it all myself. So Twitter is where you put 100 and I think it's 200 and something characters. Now it's just text. You have conversations, you can reach out to people, you can jump into a conversation. But the way you interact is totally different than Instagram and Facebook. Instagram and Facebook are more visual. Facebook is a combination of the both. Instagram is specifically for Images and like square videos. Videos can't be longer than a minute on Instagram. And if you're just starting out, Instagram TV can't be longer than 10 minutes. So that's why I suggest as I started this with, to double down on Facebook and Instagram no longer than 10 minutes should your video content be, because then you can put it on. On both. You could actually go live on both if you're going longer than 10 minutes. I found even on Facebook, even longer than five minutes, you lose people. I get analysis from multiple pages that I manage their content on. People drop off and so you're like, you're talking for an hour long and nobody's watching it. I would reserve the long form content for either a weekly, once a week type thing or, you know, your YouTube or a paid platform. If you're just giving two hours of the content like every single day, people are not watching that. They like bite sized, consumable pieces of content. And that's what Instagram is for. That's what Facebook is for, specifically the bite size consumable. And then everything branches out from there. Again, I will put a link to Gary Vee's content map. I like it. And then I created kind of an A. I made it simpler for beginners because Gary's is gonna require you to have staff just to do what he says at the level that he talks about. So that's why I simplified it for the beginning business owner to where basically all you do is you just go live once a day on Facebook for five to 10 minutes, no more than 10 minutes. And then that goes on on each platform. And then all your content is kind of based off of that is what I did. And if you follow me on all my social media platforms, you'll see that's what I'm doing. I base my podcast off of the feedback that I get from those. So the idea is with social media, the whole, the whole concept of it, to wrap it all up is this. It's your digital identity of how people know you, how they see you. And they're like, they feel like they know you. They feel like they're your best friend. That's what it should be like. Now if you set these up the wrong way, it will negatively affect your business. And that's what this podcast is about, is specifically getting started, setting them up the right way. So when you first set up your Facebook specifically, this is where I see a lot of people make a mistake. When you start on Facebook, you start with a profile. So when you first started Facebook, you have what's called a profile. And you know what, I wasn't going to do a screen share on this, but I'm going to have to because otherwise I really am doing a disservice to everybody. So guess what? This is getting a screen share. If you're listening to this on audio, the video version of it is on YouTube and you can watch me do this on my screen. So let me add my screen into this video capture device. This is gonna be funny for those that are watching. They're like, what is going on? You see a second version of my face on there? Let's go to display capture. Perfect. So we're gonna move this right here so then you can see the Facebook and Instagram stuff in the window. Awesome. Alright. So when you're on Facebook, when you first make it, you have what's called a profile. This is my Facebook profile. It is not the same as where it says here, manages my Facebook page. This is my Facebook page, which has 15,000 followers. You are limited on a profile of only 5,000 friends. And so if you're making a profile and you're running all your whole business on your profile, you can only have it go out to 5,000 people or those that follow you. You also can't run ads and you can't track people and you can't retarget and you can't do all of this stuff. So where I see a lot of people make a mistake is because they can add people quickly as friends, they build their whole business on their Facebook profile and they get confused by this. Because Instagram, you can only really have one profile or you have two separate on Facebook, you have to have two to run a business. You can't have one or the other. Now, if you're already a celebrity, if you're already people that have a household name like the Rock, Mark Zuckerberg, Ashton Kutcher, Donald Trump, a Facebook profile will work, okay, because people will find you organically. They already know your name. But if you're not somebody that people can just say in a crowd of people, do you know Jeremiah Krakowski? If you did that in a crowd of 10,000 people, there might be one person that maybe knows my name, okay? As you grow in popularity, more people will start to know you. That's where the whole verified thing comes from. But if you're not that well known, you can't do very much with a profile. You are limited. And so where I see a lot of people, they start to argue is, well, Hey, I don't get as much engagement on my page when I post content. So I'm gonna only post it on my profile because that's where I get more comments and interaction with people. That's the wrong way to do things because you can't track who's watching your video. Now what I do here is I share my content right now from my page to my profile. So every piece of content that I put out on Facebook is always originating on my page. This is where the starting point is. I go live on here. People ask me all the time and does going live or posting a video matter? It matters to the fact of if you go live, you can't stop it and you have to start over and it makes you get your thoughts more organized. The exercise of going live is specifically to train you how to talk on the fly and it makes you get better at communicating. So the idea is you put all your content, your videos on your page, not your profile. Because then I can look at engagement numbers of how many people watch the content. I can track them, I can run advertisements, I can boost the post. But boosting isn't the only thing that matters. I can take my profile and go into the Facebook ads manager and go here and manage my audiences in the ads manager here. And I can track how many people watched a video. So I have a website building course. For instance, I can track how many people watched, 75%. You can track people who have viewed at least 3 seconds, 10 seconds, 25%, 50%, 75% of any video that is on your social media page. You cannot do that. If you run everything through your profile, every video view you get, if it's posted first to your profile, I'm not talking about sharing it. You cannot track and then retarget people. So you get all that engagement, all those views, and then that's where it stops. Whereas if I could track people for up to six months, I can then show them an advertisement for either more video content, my website, my products, my services. So that is why even if you're getting more engagement, more followers, more people on your personal profile, you must always post it to your page first. Stop going live on your personal profile. If you are promoting or building any sort of a business, anything, post it to that profile or that page and then share it to your personal profile where people will then engage more and only do it in that order, not the other way around because you lose all ability to track or do any of those fun things, create audiences, etc look alike audiences by posting it to your personal profile, period. I'm the. Every single advantage to why you would still use a personal profile over a page is negated by the fact that you lose all of that information. Because then when you want to scale and you want to move everybody over, you're gonna have to work 10 times harder to promote them and move them over to your page once you hit that 5,000 cap. Now I'm all for at least growing to that 5,000 number. That's great. But then share your stuff to your page until that crosses over and more people are following your page than your profile. I get more engagement now on my page then I do my profile. But people still engage with me more sometimes as well on my profile if they really want to engage with me. It's a it. I use it as a dual channel platform to aggregate my content from my page. Now people ask, how do I create a page? Well, if you go to Facebook, there's this little button up here that says create a page. And so you click on Create a Page and you can build a business or brand or community, public figure. Now this is where I see a lot of people make mistakes, is they create it around a business brand like, you know, XYZ product. And then they're wondering why they're struggling to get business. Always start by building a page around you and your name with your face, not your face and motivational dash, motivational speaker, your actual name. Because until you become a household name like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, your name is more important than your brand. Microsoft or Google or whatever, until people know that name now you can have up multiple pages. You might run ads through a brand as you start to, you know, do that. I've seen people, they'll have their name, but then they'll have a brand that they'll run ads through. That's okay, but only after they had their brand page for their name. Ugh. It's frustrating to me because I see people, they look at what businesses that have been established for years do, and they try to, from different day one, go in like that business that's been out there for 20 years and say, well, Apple's doing it, so that's what I should do. Apple is worth a trillion dollars. You're not. They didn't do that from day one. Steve Jobs was grinding with his name. People didn't even know what Apple was. They were buying from him because of who he was. Same with Bill Gates and with all these people, especially if you don't have venture capital and billions of Dollars behind you to push your product, your name and your face are what people are going to connect with way more than your brand. And if you're trying to just connect people with your brand, you will have to work 10 times harder for the same result. Just for the sake of saying my brand is important, don't do that. It's amateur, it's a mistake. And anybody that tells you otherwise, for somebody who's just getting started trying to build something, okay, work harder and pay more money to people and then come back and do this later, that's it's not going to work. So you need to set up a page. I just, I've seen so many people that do this. That's why it's frustrating to me, because then they have to hire me to fix their mess. And they're struggling 10 times harder than they ever should with building their business because they launched their brand over their name first. You can push a brand a lot further with your name, your face. Not hiding behind the anonymity of a logo than you ever could trying to push that logo and get people to buy into that, because they will buy into you as a person before they ever will your product, your service, or your company. And then the idea is this. If you decide to pivot, sell something else, you can do that through your page. Your page becomes the brand. The brand is your you and your face and your name. And then everything else flows down from there. Not your brand then flows down to your face. It's your face flows down to the brand. Okay, eventually that shifts and the brand may get more recognition, especially if you become publicly traded. Okay, great, no problem. But you're not there yet. And anybody who's not there yet should not lead with the brand only. At least have your face and a brand page share it to your brand page. Have them be collaborative with each other. But you can't choose one over the other first just because that's what somebody said you should do, or some branding expert told you that that serves only for you to keep paying them as the branding expert. Okay, you'll always work 10 times less. Exponentially less. I hate saying 10 times because it's not like an exact 10% or 10 times. It's exponentially less by building around you and your name first. And then it'll be exponentially less by you doing it on your profile. So if you're doing a profile built around a brand, you're almost never going to succeed. Very likely. Always build it around you. And you know there's an Organization that I work with, they get more engagement when they share stuff through their page than through their brand page. Because people want to engage with the person who's the leader of that brand, not the brand itself, unless they have specific questions related to the brand. And now we cooperate. Sometimes brand promotions, sometimes page promotions, depending on how people are engaging with us. You know, a great thing is if somebody's already visited your website, I'm a big prop proponent of actually having your website be your name, like mine is Jeremiah Krakowski. But if you're using a brand, then you could retarget ads to people that have visited your website. So let's say it's like, you know, Cody Sperber did this, the clever investor. So he would run ads with himself. Once you visited the clever investor, he would brand that in your mind. You'd remember that's what it is. And now he ran ads as the clever investor. And branding is about that. You're stamping, you're imprinting on people. This is what you want to engage with. But if you haven't imprinted that on people, you can't expect them to engage with your brand unless it's branded branding. Your name is a much easier to brand people with because they can connect with your humanity, your personality, and who you are. You guys will connect. You guys think about yourself. If my brand was called Grow youw Life, you would probably engage less on than if it was Jeremiah Krakowski. Because you know who I am, and you're listening to me right now. You're more connected to me than just the brand. Grow youw Life is just my podcast. It's just the podcast name. It is not who I am. Who I am is Jeremiah Krakowski. Grow youw Life is one of the many things that I do. Okay? So from that perspective, I always say to start with a public figure page, create that. Mine I set up as entrepreneur, so you could set it up kind of the industry you're in, you know, so like the con, you know, fitness. Yeah. Entrepreneurs, good. I think they actually got rid of just the name public figure. So you have to give yourself some sort of a category, you know, of what you do. Entrepreneur pretty much kind of covers it. Then your page name, usually your name. I've seen a lot of people, they'll be like business expert. That's just. No, it just comes across weird that way. You want to lead with your name. Okay. You're gonna work 10 times. You're exponentially less using your name over something like that. And then what you'll start to do is you'll set up all the, those, those details. So I have my profile here. What I like to do is I like to put it in my bio. I removed it the other day, but I need to put it back. That way people can connect with you. If they connect through your profile, they can then connect right to your page and you'll notice, see, I share my content. I just click the share button from here and then I share it to my profile. So I click share. You have to click these little buttons now here and change it to, you know, personal. See the little faces? Jeremiah Gracowski. Oh, wait, I'm not sharing my screen. Little faces. And then you can click that from the drop down here. So it goes, here's my profile, my personal profile. This doesn't change. And I kind of keep this to friends and people who want to engage more closely with me. And then it connects to my, my brand page over here. I've had this open since 2009, 15,000 followers. And I can share that. So then I use this little drop down, I select myself the one right here and I can share it to my friends. But I always put my content first on here. Now setting it up properly, use a different photo than your profile so people can distinguish. I also, I like putting my middle name in my personal profile and not on here. You can do it either way. But a photo is a good way to distinguish between the business and not. They give you an opportunity to invite all your friends. So you can invite all your friends right away to have them populate your page. I would do that. Put your website on there and have at least a header, a cover photo and an image. And this little about me section. And this connects people to my group and my podcast and all that. Okay. And the header image and the image should not be the same as what's on your personal profile because that way it can differentiate people between the two. I see a lot of people, they put the same. It's best to put different. This is more personal lifestyle. You know, I put more spiritual content on here. And then this is my, my business page. And so then I set up, you know, the about info all right here. I set all that up. You know who I am. You want to set up your username. That way you can easily link people just by going, you know, facebook.com forward/jeremy crack. And then that links to me. And then that's how you properly set up your business page. And then you can create your content from here and you're able to track in the ads manager anybody who watches your videos, anybody who engages, engages with your content, anybody who comments. You can then target an ad to them. You can run ads and what's great is as you put up content, you can target ads to people who are already engaging with you. They already know who you are, so you show it to people who already know who you are. That's like a dollar a day in ad spend just to do that. When you're starting out, it's super cheap with massive results to leverage stuff forward. Yet if you're building everything around your personal product profile, you're gonna miss out on that. Okay, so there's that. That's how you set up your Facebook page properly now to set up your Instagram. Instagram specifically runs best on a mobile device, which a lot of people don't like that fact that are starting out in business or you know, if you're not used to using mobile device. So you have to set up your Instagram first from a mobile device. You can set that up and then what I like to do is I convert it to a business page. You can't set up links in your stories unless you have more than 10,000 followers. And so what I do is I actually created a page on linktree that has links to all my stuff that I offer on here. That way people can click through from here to the link tree has the same bio. I created a simple bio that I can put on all my profiles that connects people to kind of what I do, who I am. It lets people know, you know, love God, my wife, and then all of God's creation. That's basically me. And if, and I, I'm, I care about that. I care that people would know that. And then I care that they, they see my content. And so then you can't, you actually can't post content to Instagram from a computer. You have to use it on Facebook or I mean on honest on a phone. You can't use your computer to put content on Instagram except for Instagram TV, which Instagram TV lets you do 10 minute videos by the way, if you haven't watched these. I do these every single morning. These are my Instagram TV videos. Different topics related to, you know, business, personal growth, all of that. This has helped me grow in expressing myself properly. One thing that I do like to do is I have a grid. You know, I have light content and then dark. So it's kind of like you see dark, white background, dark background, white background. I just alternate Them it helps it so you can read the content better. And then I just kind of design everything around that. When I get busy, I make sure at least one, one piece of content today, at least my TV episode. You know, if I'm not as busy with stuff, I'm posting more. I'm starting to schedule stuff more with tools like Buffer or. I think it's. There's one, there's a couple others that are out there that you can use. So. But setting this up, just simply your name, make an easily rememberable tag that you can tell people and make it the same across all platforms. You don't want to have to give people different stuff. So I'm able to say Jeremy, crack on all platforms. Why is it Jeremy? Well, I went by Jeremy for my whole life and now I'm going by Jeremiah. But I'm keeping that there cycle by both. Okay, I'm not gonna change it either. Doesn't really matter. Then the link tree. You can actually sign up for Link tree right here. I made one in my Squarespace site. But yeah, you can get a, you can get a free one right here or six bucks a month. And it gives you a very simple link. You can put a Facebook pixel on it to retarget people and it gives you a link that works well on those mobile devices like I showed you on mine. So then because you can't put links in Instagram, I think that's what a lot of people don't realize. That's why Link tree is cool. I do recommend it. I made my own on Squarespace. But you can do the exact same thing with linktree. I recommend it for you right now is on your profile. You can't put links. So I can't say click the link on the post like I can on here on my Instagram, but I can say click the link in my bio. And then people know to go here and then they can find all my stuff, my group, my podcast, all that on here. And then they can click those links. So Link tree helps you create a link that does that. So that's, that's real simple how you set up an Instagram. You know, Instagram stories specifically you do us. You can post a story through here. Instagram stories are more. Your behind the scenes Instagram feed is more thought out, intentional posts. And then you can set it up if you connect your Instagram and Facebook to put your Instagram business stories on your Facebook stories as well. They just directly go over which is, which is a good thing to do. I wouldn't put all the same content. It's not. It's not formatted the same to put it on Instagram or Facebook. So the best practice is to post the same things, but not at the same time, different days, but when you're starting out. Right now, what I'm doing, I'm just posting the same stuff, but I'm making sure it's at least formatted for Instagram tv. Like how this is right here, then people can watch it right there. Okay, so you don't need to. You don't need to. Here's the other thing. With social media, you don't need to get everything right and perfect before you get started. At least get your Facebook set up. At least get your Instagram set up. At least put one piece of content up each day. That's the best. Bare minimum. And use a Facebook page, not your profile. Okay? And use a page that's your name and make sure your Instagram is also your name. And then later you could maybe have a sub Instagram that's a brand. All of these can be connected. Instagram and Facebook, they're owned by the same company. They can be connected to the Facebook Ads manager. So you can run ads across both platforms simultaneously. And then that becomes a very simple way to reach, find new customers and people to. To engage people who already engage. You can track as well, video views through Instagram, engagement on your Instagram and target people who engage through your Instagram. So that's why you need to double down on Facebook and Instagram before anything else. Get really good at using those all the time consistently. And then you'll add in Twitter, you'll add in YouTube, you'll add in LinkedIn. So, for example, for Twitter, it's kind of the similar setup to my Instagram. I use the same image on all my platforms. I might change that in the future. But right here, it just kind of has my. You know what I do, I have more of my job, like a job here and a link and then what that is. And then I have a link to my community right there. So that gave me the ability to do two links. I'll have more conversations with people, you know, even more political stuff on here, here on my. On my Twitter that I don't put anywhere else as well. So that's a different platform for you to engage with me on too. And then, you know, I use messenger, use messages, you get notifications, tweets that way. All of that is set up just right here. You just set all that up and it works. So set up, but don't worry about these other platforms until you have your Facebook and Instagram setup. And then start to communicate, start to use them, start to look at. Here's how you the best. One of the best ways to learn to use social media is look at how other people are using it, look at the ways that they use it, look at the ways that they engage with other people and then start to say, well, how could I do that myself with what's important to me? Twitter is just having a conversation with people. You're able to just like go, tweet at me right now. Send me a tweet, use hashtag, grow your life. If you want, you could just eremy crack. Just send me a tweet, say listening to your podcast and I'll be like, thanks, awesome. We'll just, we'll talk back and forth. You know, just send me a tweet right now. If you're listening to this podcast right now, in fact, and you gotten this far into it, go on all my profiles, Instagram, on Facebook, on YouTube, on Twitter, and leave me a comment, some kind of engagement on any of those, let me know. Listening to the podcast, GrowYourLife. You know what I do is I actually pick one winner each week that's on my Instagram. We have people on Sunday, I pick them. If they post growyourlife on my Instagram every week I pick one person who wins a coaching call with me and will also offer swag and things like that. So that's a way that I'm getting engagement on my Instagram, is to do that. But if you're listening to this episode right here, go, go leave me a comment or tweet at me or Twitter doesn't have comments, so they're all tweets. So the way that you comment on Twitter is you do a tweet back at me, engage with me on those platforms, let me know you're listening to this podcast. So that's how you set up Twitter right there. YouTube is a little bit of a different animal, but I highly recommend Everybody gets a YouTube and sets it up. You can take people who visit your website and retarget them with Google Ads. They visit your website. You can show them a video on YouTube and on Google. That's why YouTube is so important, to have one of those set up and then you can take those videos and do that. So if you have a Google account, Gmail, whatever, set that up, start a YouTube and then you can make a channel and you can start to put content up. So what I do is I put all of my content that's also on my Facebook. I have my podcast here. Have these grow your life live sessions. I have some playlists, some other content, you know, computer content. I did like stuff like this right here. This one has like 28,000 views. I had some like affiliate stuff. Affiliate links work really good on YouTube. I'm not a YouTube expert, but like I said, the podcast is on here. If you're watching, watching the video version of this, you're probably on my YouTube. So in this to customize your channel, I haven't even really customized mine too much. This, I think this is like the default header. I should probably change that. It's funny, like I said, I'm more, I am definitely more apt and good at using Instagram and Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn. I'm still even learning those things. But I'm using them, I'm still at least using them. So they're still there. They're not just a total like miss if you want. There's a lot of experts out there on building YouTube, on building that and you can go follow them. For me. I'm specifically do most of my stuff goes from Instagram, Facebook down from there because I can work a lot less to do that to get the, to get leveraged result that builds upon itself. I don't have to work as hard to then aggregate stuff to YouTube, to Twitter, to Instagram. A lot of people they start with and they choose to do the hot things the hard way because somebody said they should. There's no point in doing things the hard way just for the sake of saying I did it. You know, like work smarter, not harder. And working smarter is doubling down on Instagram and four Facebook before the other ones. And then you can start to. You put your video content on YouTube, on Instagram TV. I have a little thing that auto shares my YouTube videos to Twitter and then everything's posted here on YouTube. Again, this is not a YouTube talk YouTube. When you upload videos, it's kind of like old school Internet. When you upload a video, it gives you the ability to type in a title which is keyword sensitive, a description and then tags and then you can add it to a playlist and that's pretty much it. And then you publish it. So I just dragged and dropped this video on here. This video is actually already uploaded somewhere else. That's why I'm going to cancel it. But that's how you add videos. You, you make the profile, you Click this, you click upload video. You can also click go live. A really cool platform to stream on multiple is called Restream IO and it lets you stream to YouTube to Twitch to this more for gamers as well, but to Facebook, to Periscope, which is Twitter. Periscope is Twitter. You can't stream though, to. To Instagram. Interestingly enough, I haven't found an Instagram streaming platform that I like. Instagram streaming PC? No, there's still not good one out there. There's one that came out, but they add their logo to your stream every time, so why would I use that? But Restream IO is cool for streaming on all of those. Does cost money though for also sending it to Facebook. But the free version is pretty decent. Their paid one is definitely worth it though. So that's setting up your YouTube, you know, @ least set up. If you're setting up a YouTube, you want to set up your URL, have it be something that people can remember. So here's your, you know, go to customize the channel here and this is where you can set up your. Your description. I don't even have one here. I need to, I need to really go through and set all this stuff up. Actually, I've just been uploading stuff like a whirlwind for the last few months, so I should probably set all that up better. So what I would do is I would put the same kind of description here, maybe a longer description. You could put a business inquiry email, some links as well. So featured channels, setting up a YouTube, that's how you do that. But at least use it. At least put videos up there, bare minimum. I'm almost embarrassed that there's nothing here, but that's okay. Shows you how much how important that is. Kidding. Because I use, I use the other platforms more than this. People can find who I am just by reading my stuff. And then on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a little different. LinkedIn has an. A unique identifier that appears under every post you make. There's this little line right here under your name that is basically a description of what you do. So people don't have to ask, you know, what do you do? So you can actually put this here. I put business growth coach, podcaster, course creator and dreamer. I might change that to something else here soon. I've changed it like three or four times. But LinkedIn is kind of like old school Facebook. You can. The algorithm is a little more old school. You can just, you know, you can import people and add them and Stuff like that. You can see who viewed your profile. You set this up based on, you know, what your career is. Go add me on LinkedIn as well. You know, you set up your career experience, who you worked for, things like that, skill sets, follow some pages, start following some people. What it is, it's basically followers, more like Twitter. It's kind of like old school friendster mixed with Twitter mixed with Facebook. LinkedIn. Those specifically more around what you do for a living is specifically what this is. And they have different, like business stuff like that that you can engage with. I just put all my videos each day and my photos and stuff on here. Gary V is a great one to follow on LinkedIn. He's becoming more of a LinkedIn influencer there. These are notifications who looked at your stuff, the comments they made, things like that. So make sure that you at least put this in here, write your intro, write your about me, your background, get all that stuff set up. It's more important, I think, for you as a business owner to set up your LinkedIn properly than just your YouTube. In the future though, I am going to see, because I have a link to consulting right here that I don't have anywhere else and then like what I do and stuff like that. So for those of you that are wanting to set up your profiles properly, this is kind of just an overview of that. Make sure that you are on those five. If you don't follow me on them, go to my website, scroll to the bottom, you'll see, start a conversation. You can follow me on all of them by clicking here. As always, we do the Giveaway, the Grow youw Life giveaway. For those who listen to the podcast every single week, we have all these episodes on the website. You can listen to these. The Grow your Life giveaway is on my Instagram. For people that, that leave hashtag grow your life on my Instagram every single week, grow your life on my posts and they want to engage with me. What they do is they leave growyourlife on Instagram and then I pick one person each week to do a coaching call with each week and I get on the phone with one person. You can win once a month and we can talk, we can go over your goals, your business goals, what you're doing, what's working, what's not. So that's a great way to do that. I'm also going to give away swag and different things like that. If you're. If you have any questions as well, make sure to join the Grow youw Life Community. This is specifically just an overview for people that have never set up their social media profiles. Get them set up. Don't wait any longer. Set them up this week. Don't wait any longer to get them set up. And make sure that you join the Grow youw Life community on Facebook. Just look up hashtag grow your life and it'll pop up, be the first item right here. It pops up. It's a Facebook group and you can ask questions and engage. But the above all else, make sure that you set up your Facebook page. Make sure you set up your Instagram, make sure you're not using the profile, make sure you set up your page around you and then set it up and follow me and see how I'm using Instagram and Facebook. Those are the two most important ones. Everything else flows down from there. If you're not using those right now, if you haven't started utilizing your Facebook and your Instagram the way that I described in this, this podcast right here. Before you do anything else in your business, before you set up a website, before you do anything else, set up your Instagram and your Facebook the way that I talked about on here. Those are the first things that you need to do today. And then go set up LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter as well. That's how you get started on social media. You just do it. You just get started and then you do it the right way. If you have any questions about this, any comments, let me know. That's how you set it up the right way. To start with, I'll post the links. If you go to my website and you click on the podcast, you click on episode number 18 or go to the YouTube and you're watching this, you can watch the video from here on the YouTube. I'll glue, I'll give the link to my video that I did on for Gary V's content map about creating content. That's it's a great model. It's a bit overwhelming for beginners. So then I also created, to create, go along with that, a video that helps simplify it for beginning business owners. How to just spend 30 minutes a day instead of three hours a day to make content that will help you go much further on social media. When you combine that with this video right here, you'll be on the right track to set up videos, to start doing ads, to start building audiences. The way that I talk about in, you know, my podcast about Facebook advertising. And I have a great blog, blog post. If you haven't checked this out, this blog Post is on why your Facebook ads aren't working. And I go into how to utilize video views on the Facebook and Instagram page to build audiences, to use artificial intelligence to find clients. And I have podcast episode number six and number seven. So this is kind of like the introduction to that. And so if I was going to walk people down a path, you would start here. You make your profiles, you start to make content like the Gary Vee model, and then you start to make audiences and run ads like I talk about in these. So that's almost like an education that you can walk yourself down for beginners to actually start to promote their products. You'll actually start to see results. Let me know if you have any questions that I. That I didn't answer. If you go through those, that's almost. That's gonna give you at least like three to four hours worth of training to learn from. To start. Like a curriculum for you to get started with social media is what you get from this podcast, from those episodes. That's where I would have you start. If you're not making money, if you're not on social media, if you're not running ads, start with those things, and I'm gonna start to direct people to this podcast as a place to start. Do the hashtag grow your life giveaway on my Instagram, can't wait to talk to you. Go leave hashtag grow your life on my Instagram right now. If you haven't done it yet, just by listening this, you'll be entered in, and then each week I'll pick a winner. I believe in you. I know you can do this. People that get started do amazing things. Everybody has the potential to learn new things and to go further than what they've experienced in the past. And this is a starting point for you on social media. If you haven't started with the very simple task of setting up a Facebook page, setting up an Instagram profile, of using them, and posting every single day, that's where you want to start. One post a day, and you'll start to see things snowball from that. You'll start to see the results about 30 to 60 days later. And the exercise of doing one thing a day will help you hone in on what you're good at, of how to communicate properly to people. Not just sharing content, but original content every single day. You can do this. Grow your life, everybody, and we'll talk soon.
