47: Profitable Video Ads Made Easy - #GrowYourLife
Jeremiah Krakowski breaks down how to build video ads that actually sell. He covers confidence in your pitch, connecting with your target customer, and the communication moves that turn viewers into buyers.
Hello and welcome to the Grow youw Life podcast. My name is Jeremiah Krakowski, and on this podcast I help you grow in your life and your business by giving you tips, tricks, tools and strategies to reach your goals faster. On this episode, I want to talk about how you can do better with your ads, your videos, and how to sell products through recorded messaging. I have an upcoming Facebook Ads social media ads class that's coming out very soon, so stay tuned for that. You'll see some ads probably pulling up on your newsfeed for that. If you're listening to this podcast. If you're not part of the Grow your Life community on Facebook, join it. There's over a thousand people just like yourself that are growing in their life and their business to reach their goals. Now, oftentimes when I talk to people about marketing, advertising and sales, because that's really what ad videos are, we have to really take a look at the foundation of what is marketing, what is sales and communication, and how are we communicating to people. And so I'm going to summarize a little bit of what, what I put in the course in the Facebook ads course about this for you to help you. If you're somebody that is trying to sell products online, trying to use social media or any sort of method, particularly videos, to make content, that sells, that gets results, that gets customers, that gets people to buy your product, register for your program, stay tuned and listen to this. There's a couple of things to understand. One, what is marketing? A. Marketing and advertising are not the same thing. Okay? Marketing is awareness is informing people, is branding is showing them what you have to offer. Advertising is taking marketing, throwing gasoline on it, lighting it on fire, and sending it to the moon to reach thousands of other people. And so the two work hand in hand. Without good marketing, your advertising is going to flop. Without advertising, good marketing is usually going to flop as well, unless you, you put a ton of money and now we're talking about advertising again. And so you need to know how to actually communicate what you're offering to people, connect with them, connect with their needs and communicate in a way that drives them to take action. It's not about you. It's not about looking good to other people. It's not about you looking good enough that they buy from you. Oftentimes, this is a misnomer that people have about advertising and about selling through video, because oftentimes when we see other ads, well, to us it looks good, it appears trustworthy. And so our effort is to try to mirror what we See, and we're so focused on looking good, validating ourselves, that we actually, unintentionally do exactly what will prevent that from ever happening. We actually intentional, unintentionally, Sorry, do what will make us look untrustworthy, look bad. By trying to look good, by trying to appear like we know what we're talking about, by trying to validate, improve what we're saying. And so one of the first things is this is to have confidence. Confidence comes from within you. Not from without, not from outside, not from outside validation. And one of the biggest things that I see people trying to do is in their advertising and their sales. They're just trying to validate themselves to feel good, to feel like they did enough, did the right thing that would actually sell something. What if just put yourself in the state of mind that the person that you're talking to in your ad is the exact target customer? Well, how do you know that it's the right target customers? Let's not go there just yet. Please stick with me on this. For you to communicate with confidence, stop worrying about, is this the target customer that I'm talking to? And believe that you are talking to the target customer. Oftentimes I see people trying to find their target customer through what they're saying, when in fact just communicating directly to their target customer and actually talking to the person that is their target customer will connect them with their target customer. And so stop trying to validate that if somebody is your target customer or not, imagine in your mind that you're talking to your target customer. And if you don't know who that target customer is, well, then you, you need to go back to the drawing board and start there instead of trying to advertise and trying to market. Because before you ever can advertise or market successfully, you need to actually know who's buying your product. You need to actually know who is going to be your target customer. You need to actually know what they're interested in, what drives them. So often people are so focused on how can I make money, how can I get the sale, how can I get the customer that they don't even know who they're trying to get because it's so selfishly focused on what they can get to validate themselves. And this might be hard for some people to hear. I. I'm gonna help you through this a little bit on this episode, but there's gonna be a few hard things to hear. So imagine in your mind that you're communicating to your target customer that they trust you. Don't imagine that they don't trust you. That's another one. Don't think. And even put that out there. Talk directly to them as if they trust you, as if they are the exact person that would buy from you. And then communicate what you offer. The solution to their problem. If you don't know what that problem is, you gotta find that out. What solution is your product solving and who has those problems? That's your target customer. Talk to them. Immerse yourself in the world of your target customer and know more about what drives them than you ever care about what your product does. Getting validated, proving yourself to people, people saying that you're good enough to do what you're doing. You will reach your target customer when you just start communicating to them directly. Because the people who aren't your target customer aren't going to resonate with what you're saying. So this is how this works. You communicate with confidence to your target customer. The ones who are not your target customer drop off. They don't engage. And so the. When you're using especially social media ads, the algorithm will show your content to people that are most likely to engage with it. Stop worrying about, am I talking to my target customer or not? And who is my target customer? Speak with confidence, clarity. Okay, now we can start to talk in a way that uses the formula Aida. Attention, interest, desire, action. You're gonna get their attention, peak their interest, increase their desire for what you're offering, the solution to their problem, and then give them a call to action. Where to go to buy from you, where to go to take action, to purchase on your landing page, on your website. And so in your advertising, this is not about you. This is not about you looking good to other people. Please get that out of your head, man. So often I see people, they, they just, they, they care so much when making ad videos about appearing professional, appearing to know what they're talking about, appearing good enough that their entire focus is that. And they are completely basically giving their target customer a gut punch to the face, saying, I don't care about you. I only care about what you think about me. Okay? And so for you to actually communicate to your target customer, you need to communicate with confidence and belief in yourself, regardless of if anybody is engaging with you, validating you, or even believes in what you're talking about. And have more belief in what you're talking about than other people do. And stop basing your belief level on other people's validation of you. Okay? Once you get past that, now we can start to communicate in a powerful, powerful way from belief, from conviction. The reason I keep hammering this about belief and conviction is because you will not have a successful advertising campaign, you will not have a successful marketing sales campaign through video, through ads until you actually believe in what you're putting out there, until you have conviction that what you're offering people will help them. You don't need other people to validate you that you are good enough to do what you say that you can do, believe in it yourself, and then trust yourself enough to communicate powerfully. Now we can start to talk about what we have to offer once we break through that barrier, break through that plateau of trusting ourselves, talking with boldness about what we have to offer. Start to communicate, okay, who you are, what you're offering, what is that solution to their problem, why they need it, and how they can get it. Start talking to the needs of that target customer. Connect with what is deep inside of them that they need to get the result that they're looking for, the solution to their problem, the solution to the problem that they've already told you and you're like, well, how do I know what their problems are? That's why you have to immerse yourself in the world of your target customer and know more about what they care about than you ever do about what you are putting out there, than what you ever do about what your message is. And get to know what drives your target customer, what keeps them up at night, what problems are they dealing with, what do they need help with? And then be a servant to deliver to them the path to that place. And doing that, you need to keep it simple. You need to meet people right where they are at with your communication. You can't talk from a place that's high up on the mountain. You can't talk from a place that's high up here. When people are, they don't know the same things that you do. And so stop expecting them to be at your level for you to then talk to them, come down, and sometimes I hear people say, well, that would either be lying to them, deceiving them, or diluting the message. And I'm not sure where people get that from that meeting people where they are at to help them find a solution to their goal is a bad thing. Unless it comes from a place of you don't believe in what you are actually doing, or you believe in it so much that you actually don't care about these other people. You only care about the result and the goal that you are getting. You only care about driving home what you care about and not meeting others where they are at. Listen, when you are making an ad campaign, when you are selling on video, you are leading another person from where they are to where they say that they want to be. It is leadership on demand. It is leadership on recording. You are leading another individual by having empathy for what they are going through and directing them to what the next step is. Listen, this isn't acceptance. This isn't like validating what's wrong with them. Oh man, I've heard it all from people of why they can't do this. Well, I'm not going to validate the thing that they're doing wrong. All they needed to just start doing is what's right. They don't know. They don't know how to do what's right. That's why they're looking to you to help them do that, to help have compassion for them, compassion for another individual to lead and walk them down a path. And now you might be saying, well, you just don't have compassion for where I'm at. I've heard that from some people. Listen, I get where you're coming from. I get it. This is not about you. The only way that you are going to sell and get more customers through the Internet, through marketing, through advertising, is checking your ego at the door. Stop trying to validate yourself to other people through what you do and meet other people where they're at to serve them, to offer them solutions to their problems. Even if you think their problems are stupid, even if you think they need to just get over it, even if you think, well, why don't they just get it? Well, they don't. So help them. And then create a path that leads people by painting a picture in their minds, by imparting vision to them of what they are going to get, what result is going to happen in their lives, what is going to be created, what is going to manifest for them. Paint a picture with the words that you say, with testimonials, with stories, by describing what they are going to experience. Visually show people. And if you don't have the ability to visually show people, describe it with your words. Or maybe you're just not confident enough to do that. Then write it down. Write down some bullet points. Become a student of your customer more than you're trying to get them to study. You also become a student of ad campaigns and stop trying to just look like what you see out there. But study and break down. Okay, why does this campaign resonate with me. It's not just because it looks good. It's not just because there's clout, my friends. Clout is not going to make you successful. Clout and authority is not going to get people who have no clue who you are, which is what advertising is for, to find people that have no clue who you are. It means nothing to those people unless you can lead them down a path to show them why they should trust you and increasing their certainty and trust in what you have to offer. And that's what it is. Other people to trust us without ever building relationship, without ever opening up to people, without ever actually showing that we care about them more than we care about them liking us. And so a good campaign builds trust in people. Good advertising, good sales builds trust in people, has integrity behind it and connects with the needs of what another person has and then delivers on those promises. Is bold at making promises, my friends. You need to be bold at making your promises and what you can deliver. Don't be afraid of people saying, well, how could. Well, prove it to me. I've, I've seen so often people are afraid to make claims or things. Sure, there's certain claims we can't make, like there's health claims and some legal stuff outside of the legal stuff. Okay, impart vision of what is possible. But don't, you know, I can't guarantee anybody who listens to my podcast is going to make a million dollars. I can't guarantee that anybody's going to be successful. But if they follow a path, they are going to be a lot closer to their goals and it's going to lead them from where they are to where they want to be. And this is a piece of that. And so you need to grow in your confidence and your leadership ability to lead others through what you communicate through communication, increase your sales ability. And this is where a lot of people, man, they've had judgments against salespeople, they've had judgments against high energy individuals that are on social media that are communicating. They've had judgments against what they've seen other people do. And so they've made decisions. Well, I'm never going to be like that. And so out of an effort to never be like what they despise, they swing to the other direction and it absolutely flops for them. I've seen, I see this happen so often. Well, I don't want to be like those people that are narcissistic and trying to, you know, just look at me, look at what I'm doing. And so they swing so far that they're like, subdued and boring and sad because of the fear of how they look to other people. And this swings back around to being worried how other people perceive you and letting that control you instead of walking in confidence and belief of what you can actually deliver to people. Listen, have you ever had a communication with a friend, a trusted individual, somebody that you trust, that trusts you and told them about something that you're excited about? That's the kind of energy that you need to have in your communications, in your video campaigns. When you're selling, when you're making content that drives people to take an action, you need to be excited about it and help other people resonate with that excitement. Listen, if you're not excited about what you're talking about, you can't expect other people to be excited either, my friends. That's just insanity. To expect other people to be more excited about what you aren't excited about and to communicate from a place of worry and fear of them taking action or worry and fear of them trusting you, it comes across. Human beings read the energy of another individual. If you're watching this right now, you're reading my energy while I'm communicating with you. Human beings read the energy of other people through communication, through advertising, through video, whether you believe in that or not. Have you ever watched a video and you're just like, oh, man, I just don't trust that person? Oh, they just, they just don't seem confident. That also comes across when you're not confident in what you're talking about. So another thing too is to watch through, you know, the videos that you take. Maybe you're like, well, I just don't feel comfortable doing that. Get comfortable doing it. We have to get comfortable doing scary things and doing hard things that we aren't normally used to to get a different result than we've been getting up to this in time, my friends. And so for you, making videos, making content, maybe you're like, well, I'm really good when I get a lot of engagement, a lot of comments, a lot of hearts, a lot of likes on my content. Visualize in your mind that you're talking to somebody that is resonating with what you're saying. Don't expect them to not resonate with what you're saying in your head. Don't expect other people to not resonate with the words that you're communicating. Expect the people that you're communicating with to fully resonate with what you're doing. And then when we market we can use targeting and there's artificial intelligence algorithms out there that find the target people. So what happens is when you start to communicate in an ad to the exact people that you're targeting with belief and conviction, the algorithm starts to show it to those people because they comment, because they engage, engage, and it works in your favor. And so it actually front loads the result by you having belief and conviction in what you're saying, by expecting the best outcome, by expecting the result, by my friends, declare, this is gonna work out. I'm gonna reach the target customer, this, and maybe before you do a live video, tell yourself that this video is going to be shown, shown to the people that I'm looking to reach and I'm gonna communicate directly to those people on a one, on one basis. That's the other thing too. Don't communicate from a place of expecting other people to A, not resonate with what you're talking about and B, to where they don't trust you and start to expect that it's going to be successful. Start to make a declaration, start to declare, write down some declarations, some power statements before you go live, before you communicate, before you make your ads. This is going to reach the target people. This is going to reach the exact people that are going to, that are looking for what I'm offering. This is going to help connect the right people that are looking for the solutions that I have with their problems. And I will find those people, declare it, and then walk it out and walk in that belief and conviction. When you make your ad videos, if you've never done this before, and this is scary, and you're like, well, how do you know it's going to work? Trust me, it works. It works every single time, every single client that I've worked with, every single ad campaign that I've been running over the years, and for myself, this works. It's consistent, it's without fail. So for you, communicating, make declarations, put yourself in a state of mind of confidence, whatever you have to do to do that, expect the best, hope for the best, and then communicate from a place of trusting that you're going to reach your target customer, that people are going to trust what you're saying, that people are going to believe what you're saying, that it's going to resonate with them and then communicate from a place to increase their level of belief and conviction. Now you're like, well, how can I expect them to trust me and communicate from a place that's going to increase their belief and conviction? Well, that's. That's how you. You connect with them. And it's the right person. And so now you're guiding them and leading them down a path that increases their certainty to a point where they. They have. They feel inside of them such a resonance that they. That it would be unwise, not stupid, but unwise for them not to purchase from you, not to register for what you're offering, that it so resonates with them because of that connection that's made, that relationship, that true intimate connection. You are having an intimate conversation with a single individual. You're not talking to the masses in your ads. You're talking to a single individual person, one person to the one going to the one meeting them, where they're at. Oftentimes I have in my mind what I call avatars. What's an avatar? It's not like the little blue people on the Disney movie. It's. It's okay. I have like five or 10 different people. These are my target customer. This is what they look like, this is what their needs are, this is what their goals are. And I'm imagining that they're standing in front of me and I'm just talking right to them right now. While I'm doing this right now, I am imagining the exact person that this message is for. And it's probably resonating with you. Hopefully, if it's not great, maybe you have some questions or there's some sticking points, and I'd love to hear those from you. And let's have a conversation about this. Maybe go over to my Facebook or send me a DM or leave a question or comment in the grow your life community or on my Instagram about what you're struggling with in this process right here of communicating and connecting with people with what you are offering. And I've seen so often people have. They've judged pushy salespeople for asking for the close, for asking for the call to action, to take action to do the thing that's going to help them, that they crumble and have no confidence when it comes time to ask another person to take an action that's going to benefit them. Listen, if your integrity is in the right place, if your heart is in the right place, and if you're coming from a place of belief and conviction, you're not going to appear slimy. You're not going to appear like that thing that you're trying to avoid. So stop worrying about appearing that way and start leading other people and communicating directly with their needs and how they can get from where they are to where they want to be. And calling people up to a higher level, calling them up, raising them up to a place where it's time for them to take action and step out in faith to reach that goal and do something and put that faith into action. That's what you're calling people to do, my friends. You are increasing the level of faith in other people, getting them to take an action, put one foot in front of the other and step out. Are you ready to do that? It's going to work, I promise you. Try it out this week.
