Thanks for listening to the Grow youw Life podcast. My name is Jeremiah Krakowski, and on this podcast I talk about ways for you to grow in your life and in your business and what works to get results. I want to talk about facilitating more conversations with your target customer. Now this is a topic that everybody needs in business and you might be like, well, I don't want to be talking one on one on the phone with people, or I don't want to be talking in direct messages with people. Your social media content, your videos, your blog posts, your emails, your podcast, like whatever you're doing that is some sort of a content, is actually a conversation. So like this podcast right here is a conversation that we're having. It's a one way conversation, but you're listening, nodding, right? If you nod your head up and down, you're agreeing with me that this is what that is. It's like a conversation where I can't hear what you're saying. But based on what I talk with people about in my one on one coaching, in my social media group, in my courses on email, I have conversations with people and then I take that, bring it into this platform and so it becomes a conversation with anybody who found this episode at this moment in time. So think of it like that. It's a conversation. This is the mental shift, I think, that changes how we do business and how we do social media and content creation. Okay? And if you're not viewing it that way, this is why you're not getting sales. So when you see it as a conversation, you can lead into a sales process any which way. For instance, if somebody visits my website off of a link that I have on my podcast, I can retarget them with other things. If I retarget an ad to somebody who visits a blog post, that's another conversation I'm having. But that side of the conversation is an offer. And so your goal is to facilitate more conversations. You want to get two way feedback and talk to the people that you've been talking to, your target customer. You want to communicate directly to them as if they're standing, standing in front of you while you're making one on one content, as if they are sitting right there. Whenever I'm making this content, it's me talking to you, the person that I've made this content for. How do I know who you are? One that's a big part of it is how to facilitate those conversations. So in this episode, I'm going to break down a formula for you of knowing who your Target customer is identifying how to start these conversations and how to move the conversations into a sales process for you to start to get more sales. This is going to help a lot, lot of people get more results in their business. And the first thing that I do is anybody that is a purchasing client of mine. Now I have a lot of you that have listened to my content, but you've never bought anything from me. That's okay. I'm talking to the people that are buying from me, mainly your goals. If this is you, this is the type of people that I work with the most that I can get results with. This is commonalities. So what I do is I write this down on a piece of paper of what they have in common to identify my ideal target customer, the person that I serve, the person that I help get results, make money, move them from zero to six and seven figures in a business while I'm coaching them, help them get in front of more people with advertising, with marketing, to sell more products online quickly and easily without spending hundreds of hours doing so. That's what I do with people. And that's a very big commonality that a lot of the people that listen to me have. They don't want to run out of time. They feel like there's not enough time to get done all of the stuff that they want to do. They, they want to make sure that they do everything. Excellently high quality. They're extremely intelligent people. They think so. Or if they don't, they. At some point, you probably hear that from others. Anytime I talk with people, they're very intelligent people. They've been successful before, but they've also had their trust violated. A lot of my clients that I work with have had in some way or another, their trust has been ruined. And so they're. They're rebuilding things over time. They have some fears about what other people might do, possibly do. They don't want to get stuck. They want to get unstuck. They feel underappreciated. They have a lot of dreams, a lot of goals, a lot of vision. Does this, does this sound like you? If you're somebody that's listening to me say that right now, I write this down and every single piece of content that I create is what would help that person get results. Now how do I know what's going to help that person get results? Well, because I've been that person. So I attract and speak to the people that in some way or another are going through what I've had breakthrough in. Okay, so this Brings a level of authenticity. If I've experienced that and then had breakthrough in that area, I can point people to a proven path to get to the next level, authentically, honestly. And so for you, think about that. Any little area where you have had breakthrough through something, if you can find people to help raise them up to your level that are just a little bit behind you in those areas. By the way, a lot of the people that I work with and coach are so far ahead of me in a lot of other areas, in a lot of areas. But they come to me for the marketing, communication, sales, doing that type of stuff, right? And so it's not about just finding people that are you consider less than you. I'm not saying any of you are less than of me. Neither are your target customers. They're not less than. We're not comparing of somebody's value, but we're saying these are people that I can help with what I know how to do to get them to the next level, to their goals. And so I write this down and this is all based on the people, the conversations, the people that I have coaching calls with my one on one clients. Specifically, my goal is this is to attract more people like my one on one clients. Because of this reason, they have a lot to offer. They don't know how to get what's inside of them in front of the right people to sell what they have. And so if I can just help them get in front of the right people and communicate in a way that create sales, that's what I focus on. So that's my niche is helping people in that way. Which is why now, okay, podcast episodes like this, my content, it's all around, I'm dancing around these, these areas that my target customer has frustrations and struggles with related to what their goals are. So I'm constantly keeping your goals in mind. The person who's listening to this, or maybe not your goals, but my target customer, if you're still listening to this and you don't fit into that, totally fine. I work with a number of people. This is not to say I only work with people with that as well that are struggling through those things. I work with people, they just want some copywriting, some strategy on how to get to seven figures with Facebook ads. That's it. I love it. Ultimately, it's anybody who's trying to communicate what they have to offer to the marketplace. And so once I get that in my mind, then I think about, okay, what do they need to do more of, okay, now I Know my target customer, whoever they are, needs to create and facilitate more conversations, to build rapport, to build connection, to lean into the strengths that they have to not make it take a lot of time, remove any time wasters, move people along a path to the next step. A big way that you can do this. To start conversations with people, take a genuine interest in what your target customer is doing. If they have a podcast, if they have a program that they're building, if they post a lot of stuff about their, you know, what they like to do for fun, or you see a post or a comment that they've made about something, get them to tell you what they're doing. So this builds rapport with people. How do you do this? And this is where a lot of people are nervous with using direct message, using comments and talking with people. Listen, the level of success in your business is going to directly correlate to how many conversations you are having. Now. It doesn't always have to be direct message can be comments. But I've noticed nowadays on social media a lot of people don't always want to leave a comment, but they're actually more willing to do a direct message that's a little more private. So that's why I leave those open, because I love to facilitate those conversations with people naturally, organically. When I say organic, does that mean I'm not advertising? No, I'm advertising. So I'm running advertisements that facilitate more conversations. You might see ads that I run for. Scheduling a 15 minute call with me. So I get on the phone with people, I got my schedule booked with people that I hop on the phone with for 15 minutes and talk with them. Actual people that fit into my target customer base. And if I don't have something now to offer to my target customer, I plan to in the future. So that helps me come up with ideas for what to bring to the market to sell, as well as just by creating more of those conversations, getting people to comment, getting people to ask questions. And one of the biggest things is by not giving away everything up front on the topic, you can facilitate conversations by getting people to ask more questions without answering every question they could possibly have. In the beginning, I found I was constantly trying to answer every question somebody could potentially have so they would never have to ask me questions. Well, that was a really unwise thing to do because I was shutting off the flow of anybody coming to me to ask questions. I was shutting off the ability for any conversation to begin. So you back off a little bit and you start to Facilitate the conversation. What I found is, is that if we're trying to make sure that we cover all our bases right, with our content, to answer everybody's questions so that they never ask a question that hurts us because they don't leave comments, they don't ask questions, they don't start a conversation. Now, you might think their comments, their questions, their frustrations are silly. Well, I already answered that this here, I already answered that there. Yes. But now that you've started a convers with somebody, you have the ability to get to know them. The whole process, the whole goal of trying to get into more conversations is to learn about your target customer, to learn what you don't know right now about them. I'm willing to bet 100% of people that are listening to this right now don't know everything there is to know. This is not a judgment or to say it's bad, but they don't know everything that there is to know about their target customer. I don't know everything there is to know about my target customer. After years of doing this and even serving pretty similar of the same target customer for years, I have the experience of that, yes. But I'm still constantly learning new things about them. New things about them. And here's the interesting part. The new things that I learned about my target customer helps me learn new things about myself, how I communicate. And I'm like, oh, yeah, whoa, okay, so what they're struggling with, I was struggling with last week, but now I know how to help somebody with this, how to make it simple. And that's one of the biggest things to do, is simplify your message for your target customer. Make it simple enough that they can digest it so that they don't need to be at the same level of understanding that you are at the same level of experience. Right. I don't expect everybody who listens to my podcast right now to have 17, almost 18 years of experience in online marketing. That's just not practical. There's not a lot of people that are at that level, and if they are, they're probably not gonna be listening to my podcast. So I'm looking for the people that are either getting started or they've been exploring this Internet marketing thing. They have goals, they have a message they want to get out, but they're not quite sure how to facilitate it. That's my target customer, and that's what I help people with in one on one coaching. I walk them through, step by step, how to structure a strategy to create more conversations, to get more leads, to get more custom, to get more clients to sell more and make more money in their business to go from zero to six and seven figures. We just helped a client, two clients actually last month get over a hundred thousand dollars a month in sales from zero with all of this. Okay. And so this starts by. It started for them facilitating more conversations. Could be in a Facebook group, could be in your comments, could be in your direct messages, could be having people book a call with you, some way to facilitate conversations. Now this, ultimately we have to come face to face with. Why don't I want to facilitate conversations? What am I afraid of if we're not facilitating conversations? There's two reasons. Either we assume we know everything and we don't need to facilitate them, or we're afraid in some way. If you don't think you're afraid of it, you're just like, I don't know how. So that's a big. Another big part of that. The way you do it is by knowing who your target customer is. Who's buying from you, who's your ideal target customer? What are their goals, what are their dreams, where do they hang out? Go to different forums, go to different groups and you can read and observe people where they're at. Study anybody who's in a competing market. What comments are their people leaving? This is something that I do often is I will read comments that other people might be leaving on competitors just to see, okay, what are their people saying? If they're like my target customer, they're not going to be exactly like you. And that's the other thing too is this starts by really knowing what do I do best to help people. Getting clear on that. What can I help people best with? We have to grow in the confidence to be able to talk to people and not be afraid. If we get asked a question that we don't know the answer to, it's okay to say, I don't know the answer to that, but let me find out for you. Or that's not really what I do. I say that all the time now when I get on calls. In the beginning I was afraid to say that. Not anymore. If I get on the call with somebody, it's not a good fit. I'm going to make sure that they know. I don't think it's a good fit. I don't really do that. This is not going to work out. I'm not going to try to win somebody over that I know is not a good fit. And I don't really I can't serve somebody that's not a good fit. And so that's another place that we have to get to the point where our content attracts those that are our target customer and repels those that are not. Now, in my core social media ads that work, I walk you through everything about doing this with advertising. I have a number of podcast episodes as well. If you scroll through here, that's why I'm not going to put it in this episode, but I'm going to refer you to the episode that I did on finding who your target customer is and where they hang out. So that is episode number 60, finding the most profitable audiences with social media. So this is actually like finding where those people are, finding out all this information about, you know, to start to facilitate those. So episode 60 is really going to help you with that. And then there's another one that I did not too long ago that really broke down a little more high level on just how to use empathy for this. And that's a big part of it is having empathy for your target customer to know what they are going through, because then you can communicate powerfully in that way when you, when you know that. And that episode is, let's see, that was earlier this year. I'm scrolling through all these episodes right here, and that is episode number 41, finding and reaching your target customer. So episode number 60 and episode number 41 are going to dive really deep into that topic of who's my target customer? Finding them, finding the ideal target customer, what drives them, what keeps them up at night, what makes them make decisions. And many times you're going to notice they're very similar to you, where you were at before you had those breakthroughs that you can help them with. So you're essentially talking to like a, like a, another version of yourself in a way. Many times when I'm having these conversations, it's what I would even say to myself back then if I was learning this stuff. And so then it facilitates conversations. So you want to start that process and I want to show you this by example as well. Listen, if you haven't scheduled a 15 minute call with me, I'd love to hop on the phone with you, somebody who's listening to this. I'd love to have a conversation with you about what this inspired in you, what this has brought up. That's one way to facilitate conversations. By the way, what I just said, you want to hear from your target customer what inspired them, what, what your content brought up, what it made them think about. What their next step, what their thought process is, understanding the thought process of your target customer. When you get good at this, when you, when you have enough conversations, you're going to be able to know and predict in a way what it is, what their, what their needs are, what their goals are, because it's going to be the same across that. That's how you niche down. That's how you get specific with the type of person that you can help. Instead of trying to help all of these people out there, you're going to focus on helping your target customer do what you do best. That's where you want to get to. You don't want to be the everything person. That's a noble goal. That sounds good. I used to hear people say that, by the way, that you need to niche down. And I used to think they were crazy. I was like, well, why can't we just go wide? And now building my business, I've realized, you know what? No, we have to niche down because that's how I'm going to help the right person instead of working ten times harder to find these other people, working smarter to find the exact people that I can help. And so now any content, any marketing, any training that I have is around this topic. Now, when you get really good at creating these conversations with people that data, the feedback you get is going to help influence your sales, your marketing, your copywriting and how you sell them. And that's what I work with a lot of my one on one clients through is structuring their copywriting, their promotional materials and their offers to get results. And so if you're somebody that has a goal, that has an idea, that has something that you want to bring into the marketplace and create an offer to get in front of the right people and want some coaching with this, Again, schedule a 15 minute call with me. I'd love to talk with you through what are your sticking points, what are the areas that you want to grow through, what are your goals? And help develop a plan and a strategy for that to help you take your business to the next level. These aren't sales calls. Many times I hop on the phone, I hopped on the phone with a couple people this week. I was like, you know, it wasn't, they weren't ready for coaching, totally fine with that. Like not. I'm going to say that, I'm going to say, you know, hey, keep plugging into the podcast. Here's I want to help direct you, to direct you to some good podcast episodes as well that I have help create more content for you to help serve you. So I'd love to again talk with you about that, about these areas, about facilitating these conversations. Or you can just send me a direct message. And if you want to win a free 30 minute full coaching session with me, my normal coaching sessions are an hour, so this is like a half session for 30 minutes. This is more of a deep dive coaching.
