73: Deciding What To Do Next That Will Bring In Sales - #GrowYourLife
Jeremiah Krakowski shares coaching advice on business growth and sales strategies, emphasizing the role of play and courage in entrepreneurship. He discusses decision-making, overcoming blocks, and finding accountability through his coaching community.
Hey everyone, thanks for listening to the Grow youw Life podcast. My name is Jeremiah Krakowski, and on this podcast I talk about ways for you to grow in your life and in your business to get more results, more sales, live a bigger life and have a greater impact. And that's what this is about is I want to help you have a bigger impact with what you are selling, or if you don't have something to sell, find something to sell. Now, how does sales and impact work together? Well, this is a foundational part of what I teach is if you can bring in sales, that can then fund the dream, fund the vision, fund the future. But you have to have a vision and a future to go after. And so I want to talk to those specifically who have a vision. They know where they're going, but they're not sure where to start and what their next steps are. When I talk with people on my free 15 minute calls, where people can schedule time with me for free, doesn't cost anything. On my website, we get on the phone and we talk about where they're at in their business. I end up identifying a few key elements that are holding them back. And one of the biggest key elements is making the decisions that are going to get them to the next level, learning what they don't know already. Now, these are really what make the biggest difference for business owners that have a vision, but they're not quite sure how to execute and get results, get sales and make more money in their business. Or maybe they know how to. Maybe if you're like me, they've done it before. You know, I've made millions of dollars for the companies that I've worked for, millions of dollars for my clients, my coaching clients. But for me, implementing even in my own business took time because of certain blocks along the way. And that's one of the foundational things that I want to talk to you about, is how you can get past those blocks to start to execute on a mass scale, to get more results. Now, no, no, no. Before you shut this off and think this is only for the person that already has everything built out. When I say on a mass scale, I'm also talking to the person that's never sold anything because you have to think bigger about what you're doing for you to execute micro. And so if you are trying to just get your first sale, trying to just get your website up, trying to just get your offer up, trying to just record your first piece of social media content, your first podcast, your first whatever it is you listening to this right now, have something in your life that you know that if you do that, everything's gonna open up for you. We all do. We all have that next step that once we take action in that next step, the doors and the floodgates will open and then we get to go up to that next level. And these are the levels building a business. If you're somebody that's stuck not knowing what decisions to make, that's what I want to help you with today, is deciding where to start. Deciding where to start. I did a podcast episode a few weeks back on when you don't know what to do next, try this. And it was kind of about this message, but this is going to be honed in specifically for the person that is ready to see results quickly. And I actually just did this process, this exercise with a coaching client of mine this last week. She had a book that she was working on getting out there and it was taking her months to get it done. And she said, well, it's probably not going to be done until, you know, January. I told her, no, no, no, you have to execute on what the next step is in the next seven days. Now that scared her, right? The next seven days, you have to execute on the next step. This needs to be explained. If your next step is learning what you don't know, asking for help, planning, growing in skill and ability, doing the personal development work for you to no longer be afraid to put yourself out there, that's your next step. Okay, maybe your next step is to. To schedule one of those 15 minute calls with me for free and then I can help talk with you through like I do everybody who hops on those calls, what your next step is that's gonna execute and produce profitable results. And this is not gonna be a talk on mindset today. I've done enough of those. You absolutely need to have a positive self image. You absolutely need to fully accept yourself as you are right now. You absolutely need to learn how to connect and communicate with people and have empathy for their situation and become completely obsessed with your target customer and what they're going through. I want to start there and break this down for you step by step, for you to know how to get from where you are to where you want to be. And this is after coaching people for the last six years through this. And this is the catalyst that breaks open everything is when we can stop overthinking about what our next step is, when we can stop trying to reach perfection, an unattainable level of perfection. There's a few different definitions of perfection. And so I do want to explain that. Absolutely. Go after excellence, giving it your best shot, doing the best that you can at everything that you do, 110% demonstrating your value. But the biggest thing that I see that stops people is when it comes time to executing, they know that the quality of their service or business or product is very high. And if you're somebody that's listening to me right now, you know that. But they're struggling with translating that to reaching their target customer and how to get in front of the people that are ready to buy from them to build a lasting connection and relationship. Listen, your mission is to build a community of people that are as close to you as a friend. In their mind, that's a very big concept. Where there's still boundaries there, right? There's still a level of boundaries. This is where there's like two layers right here, okay? So you have your inner circle and then you have your outer court. And so the inner circle is the people like your friends, your parents, your spouse, your closest friends. Then you have those other friends that don't aren't in that inner circle. Then when it comes time for your customers, they're just a little bit outside of those friends. They kind of cross into that, just a little bit of the boundary. But they are still on the level of being a friend. That's why when I make content, I say my friends, because that's what we're doing. You know, it's not the same level as the friend that I call every day. It's not the same level as the friend that I've known for 13 years and somebody who wrote a really good book on this topic, two books, really good boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud and Keep youp Love on by Danny Silk. And so boundaries are so important because they tell us what level of access people get to us and show respect to others and how to respect us. You know, I had somebody the other day say, like, they were constantly hitting my inbox trying to get on the phone with me. And I'm just like, no, like you can schedule a call and we can talk. But they wanted me to call them right away. I went, no, no. You know, so, so that's what I mean is you have boundaries. You have to have a level of boundaries with that connection. But at the same time, you're, you are creating a very deep, intimate, heart to heart connection with a larger group of people. And that's how we mobilize movements. Okay, now you might say well, but, Jeremiah, I just want to sell my network marketing product, or I just want to sell my nutritional product, or I just want to get a couple customers in my business. You still have to think bigger to effectively do that. My experience comes from building communities of millions of people, closing millions of dollars in sales. But then I break that down to the lowest common denominator of the people that I have on my platform right now. So the way that I communicate still uses the same methods in the right strategic order. And this is where a lot of people get mixed up. And this is where I talk with a lot of my coaching clients on is, okay, they know this. They. They see it. They see the vision. They know where they're going. They know what's possible, but they're not qu what the next steps are. Should they build a Facebook page? Should they build a Facebook group? Should they build an email list? The answer is all three. Well, which to do first? Facebook page always comes first. Create the Facebook page. You're gonna simultaneously grow that Facebook page while you build your email list and a Facebook group. The Facebook group is always an inner part of that outer circle. Okay? And even if you have, you know, an inner circle or like a program, a coaching program, or you have a mastermind group that still has a level of access that isn't fully integrated in. And I know many of you that have that. Listen to me. The concept of this may be a little bit but scary. It's the concept of being completely vulnerable to the world out there, letting them see you having an intimate relationship, but with separation. And when you can do this. Well, the masters that do this are the ones that grow and reach those high levels. They know how to maintain the dichotomy of the balance between the boundaries, the intimate relationship. And so when you can combine these two together, that creates sales, because people are connecting with you. And it starts with you understanding who you're connecting with. The goal is not for them to understand you first. They will eventually, but in the beginning, they most often will not. The goal is for you to understand them better than they understand you and you understanding them better than they understand even the product or service that you're selling or that you understand it. And when you learn this, you learn the language, the cadence, the perspective of that target customer. You learn that perspective of how they view the world, how they think about the world, how they imagine the world. And then all you do is you just talk to that one specific person. And we call that the ideal target customer avatar. If you don't know what that means? It's. This is a character profile, a psychological profile of who is most likely the target customer. And many times businesses are going to have even four different types, four different quadrants of this. Okay. And so when these quadrants all work together, it creates a great synergy. You know, we have the people, they just, they want to have fun, they want recognition, they want to be acknowledged. Then you have the people that they just, they want to win, they want to dominate, they want to have power. Then you have very analytical people that really care about analyzing everything and all the details. And then the fourth type that you have is very caring, very kind, very compassionate, really benevolent type of a thing. Okay. And so when you discover kind of what that is, those types of people, when you discover that in your audience, you're able to communicate to them from these different places, you absolutely want to talk to the powerful ones that want to dominate and win an industry. I'm would bet a lot of you that I talk to are that I bet a lot of you are also very kind and compassionate. There's analytical and the. You love recognition and just having fun. You know, for me personally, I'm in that lane of the having fun and the kind and compassionate person and that's, that's who I attract the most, is very soft, very tender hearted, very fun loving, which is why many of you have not had fun in a very long time. This is gonna make sense in a minute. When is the last time that you took some time for yourself to just play and have fun that had nothing to do with your personal development, the industry that you're in, or personal growth or anything related to what you normally do on a daily basis. When's the last time? Often I encourage people. This is only going to take a second. I encourage people, think back to what you did when you were younger for fun. If you had all the time in the world, what did you do? For me, it was playing video games and my piano. I have a client that I worked with. Hers is riding horses. Another one is sewing. Another one is watching silly comedy movies. Now, how does this relate to business and sales? If you start to give yourself permission by accepting yourself right where you are today to go have fun intentionally. When you're the most stressed out, it's gonna activate something in your brain that's gonna make you more creative in your business to connect with your target customer, to create ads, to create blog posts, to create social media, write emails when you go from having play. So what I'll do is I'll go play my piano for five, ten minutes. I'll go play a video game for ten minutes, and then I will start writing copy or I will jump into doing video content. Especially if I'm feeling very down, very emotionally drained, I will go do this because it lifts my spirits up. Do you have something that you can do when your spirits are down that lifts them up right away? For some people as well, Prayer and worship music also does the same thing for me as well. And so whatever your thing is, how often do you give yourself permission to just go have fun and play and blow off your responsibilities? How often? It's time to start. It's time to start intentionally blowing off your responsibilities for a short period of time on purpose, for the reason of being able to design your life instead of living your life the way that it's been handed to you, designing your life the way that you want it to be. And then you can take that energy, that increase of happiness and joy and elation, and you pull that right into creativity with your business. And I'm telling you one to one, like when I didn't do this, and when I do, the results are better. You're more focused, you are thinking more clearly. You're able to make decisions quicker and accomplish more. Have you ever noticed that executives and CEOs of companies spend a lot of time playing and having fun? You know, I used to think that that was because they just had a lot of people working for them and so they didn't need to work. No, it was actually. It's actually strategic. Why? A lot of these guys go and play golf or go do something that is fun and enjoyable. Because what it does is it activates that part of your brain, the creativity. It takes you out of that fear and stress zone into the genius zone that's already up here. And there's a book on this. It's called Play. It's a really, really good book that I read that is Play. How it shapes the brain, opens up the imagination, and invigorates the soul. And it's all about the groundbreaking science behind what I just shared with you right now. Since 2010, we've all seen the happiness on the face of a child or the blissful abandon of a golden retriever. This is the joy of play. It's a biological, biological drive as integral as sleep or nutrition. And so it talks about how this is actually part of the secret genius formula of highly productive people, is that play aspect. And if you haven't done that in a long time, I would strongly encourage you to do that. And then when you come back to deciding what to do, you're gonna know more clearly what decisions to make in your business. Now, you may still be like, well, I still don't know what to do. This is often connected to if it's for you, if maybe it hasn't been safe before for you to make mistakes, or you just want to get it right, you just want to have wisdom, you got two options. Either you can beat yourself up, beat your head against the wall, or you can ask for help. Those are the only two options, really. And for many of us, it may not have been safe to ask for help, or we have a level of pride that we want to make sure that we do it all our ourselves. And we never needed anybody to help us with things. By the way. This is nothing to be ashamed of. This is a natural human thing to be that way. That stubbornness, that drive to figure it out for yourself and not have anybody else, you know having helped it, because we feel accomplished doing that. But if you find yourself struggling to get to the next level in your business, if you find yourself struggling to break through to the next level, and you're constantly spinning around and you're seeing that your next steps are going to take a month or two months or three months for you to break through, it's time for you to get some help from other people. Because many times we can become very blinded to what we only see ourselves in our lives. And so when we get blinded to this, we are operating out of that old pattern. If you ever came from corporate America, you're pulling that corporate pattern into this. Or we pull the pattern from school, or we pull the pattern from church, or these different places that are very different than running a business. And so what happens is business is a catalyst to pretty much help you get over your stuff and to grow. And personal growth as it relates to business is all about massive productivity, mass scale, discipline, focus and execution, implementing the steps that are going to get the most results. If you implement a step today that is going to produce $100,000 versus you implementing a step today that's going to produce $10,000, or which one of those would be the most important for you to make? The one that produces 10,000 or the one that produces 100,000, well, we both know the answer to that. If the One that produces 10,000 has the potential to produce a million, but the one that produces 100,000 can only produce 200,000 in two years, you would actually want to choose the 10,000. And this is where people get stuck, is they don't know which path to take. They don't know which one to take. And so what I've found is that if you take the one that is the easiest for you to execute today, to implement, to take action on, and you find that place where you're stuck and you implement some play to help you get a little bit unstuck, maybe it's just that you don't feel motivated enough. Maybe you're used to waiting until the last minute for things to get accomplished or get done. Or maybe if you're very fear driven, you're waiting until a disaster or stress happens in your life for you to take action. That's where I was, is I was constantly waiting for the disaster or the stress moment to happen to take action. And so many times then what we'll do is we will actually artificially create either stress moments, fear moments, or procrastination moments to activate us into that place of motivation. I want to invite you to maybe flip it a little bit if you can set a time limit on yourself for when something needs to get done that's gonna help you with your procrastination. And then do one scary thing every single day. Take one courageous action every single day. So what this means is your courageous action may very much be related to your business. If you're somebody that's very fear driven. I talk with a lot of people that are fear driven, like I was taking. Those courageous actions on a daily basis are what actually activates them to get to that next level. And your courageous action could very much be putting content out there, could be creating a course, creating a training, creating a podcast, creating a piece of content and launching an ad. It's a courageous action that is scary because we're not quite sure. Writing a blog post, we're not quite sure, am I doing it right? Am I doing all the right things? Am I doing it the right way? And so if you simultaneously put a deadline on when something needs to be done, combined with taking courageous action every single day, this becomes like gasoline on the fire of your productivity and your discipline. And then if you can get an accountability partner to hold you to your word and a mentor to help you in some of the blind spots. This is the four angles that produce the biggest result in people's lives that are business owners. And so if you can identify what's that thing that you've been putting off that you've been procrastinating, maybe you've been Procrastinating because you're planning something. Well, make some decisions quicker. Billionaires say this, that quick, fast decision making on very big things is what made them successful. Fast decision making. No longer waiting months or years to decide what to do, but making those quick decisions. Do you get some advice from other people? Absolutely. Do you figure out what you don't know and learn what you don't know? Absolutely. Make sure that you find some people that you trust in your corner. Are you afraid to ask other people for help because you're not sure if they're going to think that you're a burden or an inconvenience? If so, that might be. Your courageous action to take this week is to do something that maybe you thought you couldn't do or shouldn't do. Some of you, I know your courageous action is going to be scheduling a 15 minute call with me because you think that maybe you're not at the place in your business to be ready for that. You think that maybe you're not at the place in your business to be ready to schedule a call with me. And you have to have all this stuff built up before then. Listen, if you're at that place, you got two options that I want to give you. One, take a courageous action and schedule that call. Or number two, send me a direct message on my Facebook or Instagram and let's talk about back and forth. I will text you on what you are dealing with, what you are working through before we hop on a phone together. I did this with a number of people. Help them figure out what decisions to make in their business and what things to take. Now, one thing I will encourage you. I would ask that you be very direct with your questions. Be very direct about the result and the outcome that you're looking for. If you're trying to learn how I do something in my business, it's going to be best that you come right out and say that. Because I actually want to give you the blueprint, how I've done everything. I actually want to just give you that whole blueprint. You know, there's a lot of people out there, quote, unquote gurus that are afraid of giving away their secret sauce. That's not me. I want to give it all away to you as much as possible through these podcasts, through my coaching, through working with me so that you can go to the next level. If I can help you surpass me and all of my other clients, I win because of the case studies and the results that happen from that and the you know, referrals. And so I want to hear from you, where are you stuck? What are you working on? What are you going through? You are not a burden or an inconvenience to me if you reach out and do that and maybe you have somebody in your life, maybe an accountability partner or somebody that you can reach out to. The Grow youw Life Facebook group is a great place to find accountability partners and network between each other. I built that as a place where you can go and post questions and hear a group opinion on those questions from people that are working on all of this together. And then that group opinion can actually help raise the whole group up together. That's the goal of it. And so if you've never posted in that, do that. The other thing too that you can do is you can actually win a free 30 minute coaching session with me by leaving growyourlife on my Instagram. On any post on my Instagram, I pick one winner every single week on Sunday to win a free 30 minute coaching session with me. For you to figure out what the next steps to take are in your business, you have to know where you're starting from and you have to know where you're going. You have to have a vision of how those dots connect between where you are and where you want to be. And you have to become completely obsessed with your target customer and their life and what they're going through and what they're experiencing to help lead them and get them to the next level. If you can effectively do this, your ability to close sales in business goes up exponentially because you're building that trust and rapport with people on a very honest, authentic foundation. And when people see honesty and authenticity, they resonate with that. You know, my hope is that everybody that I connect with sees that. I'm not expecting everybody to trust me right out the gate. That's totally fine. I would love for people to, you know, fact check me and ask questions and things like that. It's awesome. I love answering questions that people have. It's awesome. For you to get to the next level in your business. We have to get better at making decisions for our plan, for what the next step is, for what we need to execute on next, for what we need to implement next, for what we need to take to the next level. And if we're stuck at one point or moment in that process, either ask for help, post it in the Facebook group and get unstuck. That's it. That's literally the solution to that. By simply asking or you can go find somebody that is doing exactly what you want to do in your existing industry. So I join a lot of different Facebook groups with coaches, with leaders to ask what they're doing with connecting and communicating with people. And it really helps me as well. And so I would encourage you to look at other Facebook groups that are in your industry, maybe social media management groups, maybe real estate groups, maybe e commerce groups, to ask those specific questions. I just joined an e commerce group this week that has 70,000 people. I had a client contact me that wanted to talk about fulfillment centers for e commerce. And so I didn't quite have the answer, but I said, let me research that what I do. I went to that Facebook group and I asked, hey, what's a good recommendation for a fulfillment center? Got 30 comments back. It's a great way to meet people, network and get information to learn and to grow. The other thing is learning how to use Google. Learning how to Google things is so important and so key. If you can learn how to Google your questions, it's going to be a lot easier for you to know how to ask the right strategic questions. That's the thing that we need to grow in, is learning how to ask the right strategic questions. There's a few different ways you can ask a question. One of them is assertive. The other is passive aggressive. We don't want to ask our questions in a passive aggressive way because essentially the person answering is going to kind of give their bias on that. Now there's a place where if we want to get a wide variety of opinions, maybe sometimes I do that on my social media. Just, you know, what are your thoughts on if we stopped trying to do everything perfect in our life? There's some bias to that. Right? And I want to hear kind of, where's everybody at? And then I go into making teaching on that, then I go into making structure on that. And so for you, it's about that dichotomy of how do you ask questions? How do you learn to learn about your audience? How do you get in front of them? For me, I learn about my audience through my group, through my social media, and through the free calls that I do and then I go out and execute. All of my content is designed around the feedback that I hear from people in comments on those free calls and in the group from you. So I design these podcast episodes, but based on your feedback. If you're listening to this right now, this episode was strategically designed based on the feedback that I've gotten from you. That's listening to this right now. And it's the same thing for your customers. You want to learn to know your customer, building relationship, trust and rapport and connecting with them so that you know what they are experiencing, what they are going through, and then you can deliver directly what they need to them. Instead of just signaling and saying, I hope somebody finds me out there, you're able to show up right at their front door, proverbially on social media to say, I have exactly what you need and what you're looking for. That's how the algorithm works on Instagram, on Facebook, ads on Google. You know, there's actually technology where if you have it activated, it listens to the microphone. And I know there's controversy on that. Like, is it listening to the microphone and does it do that? Personally, as an advertiser, I like it. I leave it on, on my phone and I see relevant ads to the things that I'm, I'm doing in my life from business owners that can help me. And so that's the same thing, is that if you're communicating and connecting in a way in your ads to your target customer, specifically, the algorithm is actually going to show your content and show your ads to the people that are most relevant to what you have to offer. And that's what I teach in my social media ads that work course as I break this whole process down of setting up and creating ads that convert to sales. But the foundational step of this is become obsessed with your target customer. Learn how to communicate and connect. You're never going to learn about other people until you start asking questions. Start asking your audience questions, start asking them what they're dealing with, what they're going through. Somebody says, I'm struggling with sugar addiction or caffeine addiction, and you're a health coach, start asking, well, what's your favorite sugar to run to look for patterns in that. When you find those patterns, you can start to create your messaging in a way that actually mirrors the pattern that you recognize in your audience. And then when you're able to mirror that pattern, you're able to deliver them the solutions that they're looking for. And if you have a good product or service with integrity that you're helping people, that's helping make the world a better place, you're able to show up and demonstrate your value to the people that are ready to buy from you at the strategic times that they're ready to buy. And when you do this, when all of this fits together with your offers with your copy with your connection with your advertising, with play. Like I talked about adding play into what you're doing. I'm serious. Try it this week. It's gonna change your life, your growth and your sales will increase. Now, I have a number of podcast episodes on this podcast about sales and about connecting with sales. There's episode number two, there's other ones that are on, like selling without being slimy, having integrity with sales, how to connect in sales. That's authentic. You know, this whole time on this podcast, I'm going to kind of break the lid open on here. I've been selling you on what I do my courses, coaching. But I'm not coming right out there and saying buy it. I only want the right people that what I offer is designed for to buy it. And so the way that you communicate, you want it to attract the ones that are the right for you and repel the ones that aren't. And I've done this, and this has actually been a journey for me is I thought that I could help everybody. And now I'm learning, you know, what with my message, with my skill set, with what I do, I can't help everybody. And that's okay. That's perfectly right. There's other people that can help those people. But what I can do is I can help the people that resonate with this message to help them. If you're listening still to this podcast episode, I believe that you are somebody that I can help take to the next level. And I would love to talk with you, I'd love to hear from you, what you're going through, what this has inspired in you, what thoughts that you're feeling, what thoughts that you're thinking, what's going on, where you're stuck and what your goals are in your business. So that I can help you get to the next level starts with getting faster at your decision making process, asking for help when you need it, learning how to communicate better, learning to not be afraid to step out and do scary things like learning how to strategically take courageous actions. And you know, I even wrote this down on my social media today. I put this on my Facebook. If you can figure out what you don't know and haven't learned yet, as quickly as possible, your business results will grow. And I hope that this podcast can be a catalyst for that for you. Google and Facebook groups and asking for help from people that are offering help to you, you're not an inconvenience to those people. They love to help. There's many people in groups that love to give their opinion and advice and if you come to me asking for advice on something, I will gladly give it. I'd love to. Alright, so if you haven't yet, head on over to my website Jeremiah krakowski.com under the tab that says coaching. Click on free 15 minute call and schedule a free 15 minute call with me.
