Hey everyone, thanks for listening to the Grow youw Life podcast. My name is Jeremiah Kurkowski. And on this podcast I talk about ways for you to grow in your life and in your business. And on this episode I want to talk about the difference between perfectionism and excellence and doing things with excellence versus striving for perfection and how one will help you and one will not. And how to shift your mindset by about 5 to 10% on this topic. But before I go into that, I want to say if you're not in the GrowYourLife Facebook group, be sure that you join that today. And if you haven't scheduled a free 15 minute call with me on my website, let's talk about your business. Let's talk about ways that it can grow and how you can reach your goals faster. We can go over your strategy, your copy, your social media, your branding, your messaging, your targeting, all on a call together for free. No obligation. I'd love to hear from you. And if you haven't checked out my course, social media ads that work, it's the best course out there on running Facebook and Instagram ads. It's only $47 on my website. Now this topic of perfection versus excellence. I'm somebody that has always strived for perfection, doing everything perfectly all the time when I launch products and services. And unfortunately this has some negative side effects to it where you can take too long to get something done and out there to people because you're trying to make it all perfect. Now. I absolutely believe in doing things excellently. I absolutely believe in delivering high quality and services. If you listen, bought any of my products, worked with me, coached with me, you know that. But the thing that I had to realize and that I also noticed was a pattern with the most successful business owners on the planet. The people that are making 7, 8, 9, 10 figure billion dollar companies. Is that done? Is better than perfect, Good enough? Getting to 90% or even 80% and launching something that's excellent at that 80 to 90 is better than taking a long time to finish up that 10% on almost everything. And if you shift your mindset on this, you will get more done faster because you'll be able to realize that it's about the impact, it's about the customers and it's about scaling and growing and getting the momentum going. You see, speed in the marketplace is better than having it look perfect. Having everything appear perfectly, having all the graphics done perfectly, having all the emails written perfectly, even the copy perfectly, having something out there and connecting with the Marketplace and connecting with people is better than doing all the things, quote unquote, that look like they're perfect. And that's going to get you more results, that's going to make you more money. And especially for business owners, this is what keeps people from reaching six figures and seven figures more than anything else. You actually probably will not be able to reach seven figures without fixing this area. As a perfectionist and a lot of the people that I coach with and work with, I'm going to tell you that this thing, you have to learn how to, for lack of a better word, cut corners on some of your marketing, on some of your efforts, on some of what you are putting out there. Meaning you don't have to have all of the best lighting and the best cameras and the best graphics and the best photography. Yes, we want that. Yes, that's great. But if that's keeping you from putting stuff out there, launching it, reaching your goals and impacting people, it's time to cut a little bit of those time wasters. Those excuses, those reasons for why you're not doing what you need to do in your business down so that you can activate yourself to have more impact. It's better to roll out something that you can roll out that takes you one month and do one thing every month instead of taking five months to finish something. And again, I'm somebody that's still working through this in my own life. But I can tell you that for the clients that I coach that do this, this is what helps them go to seven figures. For those that are having trouble breaking through to six figures. Because ultimately, here's why this matters. It improves your work ethic. How does that work? You're not doing perfection. So how does that improve your work ethic? Because you're gonna, your output is gonna be higher. How much you can get done in the amount of time that you have is going to be increased. If your output can increase by getting ST and launching it at 80% and then building upon that, meaning you, you observe the patterns in the marketplace. You observe what your customers are doing, what they're buying, what they're engaging with, what they want, getting and communicating with your customers. That your goal is not to look good, that your goal is not to appear professional, but your goal is to have impact and service and helping serve the people that you're working with. That your goal is, how can I put out my best foot forward? Not for me to feel like I did enough, you see, because all that is, is that's essentially just serving the dopamine that we get from feeling like we did good enough, that's essentially serving the well, at least I did everything. So if it fails, it must be something else. You see, that's what that is. When we're striving for perfection, we're creating excuses for why our failure is acceptable, because it can't possibly be anything that we did because we did everything perfectly. And that's a deception, that's a lie. Ultimately, nothing is ever perfect. Even your most perfect things are not perfect. And so that's why excellence is so much better. You can produce far more with a spirit of excellence and getting to 80 or 90% more output, more volume of output with less work and less time, and have more impact and make more revenue than striving for perfect will ever even get you close to. And so ultimately, the only perfect thing that you can do is really to again have that excellence thing, give it your best shot. But at the end of the day, you're gonna have to roll something out, launch something that is not at the end, perfect. Level of how you think it should be to have an impact on people. You're eventually going to have to put something out there that may not be fully up to par of what you think it should be. And a big part of this comes from if you've ever judged other business owners, if I've ever judged other business owners or other people and said, well, they put that out there and it was subpar and they probably should have worked harder on this, that judgment, we end up then judging ourselves in that area. And that keeps us in this vicious cycle of, well, I'm not good enough until I do this, or, well, I'm not good enough, or what I've created isn't good enough, or what I put out there isn't good enough. And I have to wait until some day off in the future. We have to get present, get present in our present moment. We have to stop waiting until someday that we are striving for perfection to arrive. I am a firm believer in building upon your successes over time, not waiting until you have a big breakthrough, to finally put something out there, building upon that, because that's actually what's going to accelerate the compound small wins, the compounding nature of going to 80 to 90% and then going to 80 to 90% and Then building upon that is going to accelerate your goals, have more of an impact and help you make more money, and eventually create that vision that you have. You will reach your vision of quote, unquote, perfection Right. Eventually. And then you'll realize, whoa, once you hit that, this wasn't even that perfect anyways. Create revenue for yourself that you can roll into hiring staff members. Create revenue that you can roll into getting the help that you need. If you don't have the revenue to hire people, then you're going to have to let some things fall between the wayside, fall to the wayside, fall through the cracks. As far as the media side of things, as far as the look and feel side of things, as far as all of that, every single person that I've ever worked with that has been the most successful at what they do has gotten this. And once it clicks for them, their revenue has increased exponentially. 5 to 10 times in less than 6 to 12 months. They were like plateauing. And then as soon as this shift happened, boom. Breakthrough on their revenue level. And I believe that that's what's going to happen for you. If you're listening to this right now, you're somebody, you have a big dream, you have a big vision, you have a goal, you have something that you want to go out there and accomplish. I absolutely love high quality stuff, performing at your best, giving it your best shot. But if your best shot is not doing anything until it's all perfect, that's actually not your best shot. That's just serving this feeling of not being good enough. And ultimately this ties back to self acceptance, this ties back to self image, this ties back to how we see ourselves and how we see the world around us and self criticism and criticizing ourselves. And how do we criticize other people and how do we criticize ourselves for if we are doing good enough? Realize that you might have to bring down your level of what good enough is in your mind to reach your goals temporarily. You see my podcast right here. I ultimately want to have a studio and all of this stuff going on, but I can roll out more content just by talking with you and having more of an impact by doing it this way instead of waiting for all the situations to be perfect. I was actually talking to my wife the other day as well. I said, you know what, Like, I'm gonna make more content. I don't need the perfect situation, the perfect scenario. I'm just gonna go live and start talking to people as much as possible. And you know what? That's had a huge impact on me, connecting with people. Because of that, I don't spend more than five to ten minutes even thinking about what I'm gonna launch, what I'm gonna put out there when I make content anymore because I'm just. I'm just having a conversation with people. My goal is no longer how can I convince or get people to believe a certain way or think something, or get them to buy from me or hire me for coaching. That's going to be the overflow of me just having real, honest, impactful conversations with people on my social media and my podcast and whatever it is that you're selling. Ultimately, what's going to help you grow your business, especially when it comes to sales and marketing, is getting better at your people skills, Your ability to connect with other people on a deep, intimate way, your ability to talk with other people, increasing your level of empathy for the people that you're selling, having understanding for what they're going through, having understanding for their problems and frustrations. You know, sometimes in business we might think that the problems and frustrations that our audience has are silly. I've judged my audience that way and then realize, oh, well, first off, I'm struggling with that same thing in a different way. And second, that's a very real issue that they're struggling with. And so having empathy for what our market needs and wants and cares about, that's the key to growing in sales, is you listen to the market, you pay attention to, how can I serve these human beings to reach their potential? And when I do that, I know that I can reach my potential. How can I serve the people that are in my sphere of influence? How can I serve the people that are in my lane of genius, in my zone of genius, in my metron, my field of favor? I like to pull these different things up. You've probably heard different people and speakers talk about these different things. I essentially call it my lane, my zone. Getting into the flow. When I find that flow, when I find where I operate the best, that is, when I'm serving other people, that is when I'm helping people with the things that they ask me for. You know, I get asked all the time for help in areas with Facebook ads, with copywriting, with email marketing, and with the technical side of stuff. Honestly, it's kind of boring to me. Some of that stuff is. But I know that if I can help people with that, because I've just. I've been doing it for 18 years, right? If I can help you guys with that and I can simply that process, I'm going to help you get to the next level. If I can simplify the technical stuff, I can help you get to the next level. And that's the next thing that I want to share with you is that you don't have to know and understand how every little piece of the software that you use works. You don't have to know how every little piece of the apps that you use work. You don't need to have every single app, you don't need to buy every single thing. You don't need to spend a bunch of money on these things. Focus on what are the one to two things that you can use excellently to get your message out there. If you're, Whether you're selling E commerce services or courses, these are different things that people do that engage with me, whatever that is, you still have a message. If you're doing a service, your message is the problem that your customers have that you solve and the fact that you're a service provider that's trusted, that people can lean on, that can be dependable. That's your message. And so how do you get that message in front of as many people that need what you are offer? If you are selling E commerce, your product solves a certain problem that somebody has, you know, and think about this. Well, how does fashion solve people's problems? Well, they feel better about themselves, right? Everything solves a problem that people have. Everything, whether it's a health product, it solves a problem. And so your message is, I'm somebody that you can trust that is going to help you in this area. That's your message. That's the message of every single one of you that's listening to me right now. You have some kind of a problem. And I believe that if you're listening to me, you resonate with honesty, integrity and excellence and serving your customers to the best of your ability. I don't believe that anybody actually could listen to me for very long. That doesn't operate at that level because that's what I operate in and that's the type of people I attract. And so know and have confidence that what you do is good, is helping people that you do deliver on your promises and then put that out there. Have the confidence to know that you can put that out there for people. Does it have to look good, honestly? People trust authenticity more than looking perfect in the marketplace. People trust honest, authentic connection, conversation and communication more than just appearing perfectly. They really do. And so prioritize coming forward with authenticity. That's where excellence comes from. Authenticity is what resonates with people. Give it your best shot, but don't kill yourself to do so. Give it your best shot, but don't spend hours and months Doing so give it your best shot, but don't spend all of this time doing so. You want to prioritize speed in your output, in your delivery and in your decision making. For you to make six and seven figures speed, getting faster at making decisions, launching stuff, putting things out there is going to have the greatest possible impact on what you do now. How can you accelerate that? What are some ways to accelerate the speed? A big way is growing and learning what you don't know, whether it's taking a course, whether it's hiring a coach or a mentor. And if you are a coach or a mentor, you know this. If you have never worked with one, I would encourage you again, schedule a free 15 minute call with me. I'd love to talk with you to help accelerate just a little bit, just a small piece of what you're working through in your business to help take you to the next level. And consider hiring me as a coach with you. I'd love to work with you to strategize. How can we create products and services that resonate with the market? How can we put these pieces together that create the results that you know are possible? How can we structure things to reach people? How can we target our audience? How can we write our copy and create our sales process that's going to attract and close more sales to help you get to seven and eight figures. Six, seven and eight figures. If you're not at six figures, we'll get you there. If you're not at seven figures, we'll get you there. If you're not at eight, we'll help get you there. That's what I'd love to help you with. If you're not ready for that, keep plugging into this podcast. Realize that you have inside of you right now the ability to impact people on a deep scale. You have right now inside of you the ability to change people's lives, to change the world. Do you believe it? Do you believe it about yourself? Are you believing what other people said about you? Do you believe that it's possible? Do you believe that everything has to be perfect for you to be able to do that? Or do you believe that right now, just as you are, authentically you can do that? For those of you that know that you can do so today, right now, authentically, you're going to be the one that's going to have the make the most money in your business and have the most impact and close the most deals for the rest of people. I'd love to hear from you. Kind of where your thought process is on this process, what you're struggling through, what you're dealing with in this. You can send me a dm, leave a post in the Grow youw Life group, or schedule a 15 minute call with me. If we can become self aware of those things and get some help from other what those are, we can grow and progress to the next level. And if I can be a small piece of that, I'd love to.
