You may be spiritually strong, so if the devil can't get to you, he's going to go after your loved ones. We live in a wicked generation, and the devil wants your children. The devil wants your spouse, your parents, your siblings. He even wants your close friends who are like family to you. So here are 7 prayers that you need to begin praying right now over your loved ones, especially in these times. Let's begin by referencing 1 John 5:14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. So when we approach the Lord, we can be confident that when we're praying in alignment with his word, that we are backed by his power. In other words, If God promised it, you can pray for it. If God wills it, you can come into agreement with that will, and then there's the backing of heaven. As long as you're praying according to the will of the Father, your prayers are backed with that divine force that is God's mighty power. So keep that in mind as we pray for your loved ones. Now I'm gonna show you different points of Scripture as we move through these prayers, To show you that what we are praying is according to God's will. Why? Because anything that's in God's word is according to God's will. So number one, we need to be praying for the right influences to find our loved ones. This world is filled with all sorts of different influences. There's the secular influence coming through the media and social media. There's demonic influence coming in through demonic attack. And even sometimes people who we love, who we're near, can unknowingly negatively affect us and influence us. So we need to pray that God would weaken the influence of the ungodly and strengthen the influence of the godly, that God would push away those who are ungodly in influence, And that he would draw to our loved ones, those who are filled with divine influence. Sometimes they may try to sneak in there, but your prayers can protect them. Your prayers can cause them to go left instead of right. And maybe just going that left kept them out of harm's way. Maybe leaving 5 minutes later kept them from meeting someone who would have taken them down a dark path. Your prayers can help set those divine appointments and cause those divine disconnections as well, those disconnections from ungodly influence. Now, Psalm 1:1-3 declares this: Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked or stand around with sinners or join in with mockers, but they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They're like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. So when they take that different direction and they move away from the ungodly, instead of standing around with sinners and mockers, they remove themselves from that ungodly influence. Now they're no longer distracted. When you remove ungodly influence, now there can be a focus on God's Word, on God's will, on God's ways. So once the ungodly influence has been removed, now there's that free flow in the Spirit to where they can prosper in all they do because those ungodly influences have been removed. So let's pray right now that God would remove from the life of your loved one every ungodly influence. Come on, let's agree. So Father, in the name of Jesus, We lift our loved one to you now. And Father, we ask that you would bring to them divine appointments, surround them with the right kind of people, surround them with people who love your word, who love to pray, who love to worship, who love Jesus, and remove from them those negative influences. Those confusing influences, those sinful influences, those demonic influences, those perverse influences. Protect them, Lord, from the voices that would speak against your voice, from the influences that would move against your influence. We pray for divine disconnections. Remove them from people who would cause them to compromise. Remove them from people who would set them up for temptation and foolishness and harm and destruction. We pray, Lord, that you would protect their path, that you would cause them to walk in their divine destiny, that you would remove from them ungodly influences. In the name of Jesus, we pray. And say amen if you agree. Number 2, you can pray protection from harm and sickness. Psalm 91:1-2 say this, those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord. He alone is my refuge, my place of safety. He is my God, and I trust him. Now jump down to verse 9 and 10. If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you. No plague will come near your home. Look, this is a dangerous world. The world is filled with calamity, natural disasters, violent people. There's so much going on in so many places. It's hard to say how harm may come. And if you're not careful, you can begin to live in anxiety, constantly assessing every situation, constantly worrying about the worst-case scenario, constantly wondering if that can go wrong or this will go wrong. Instead of being anxious on behalf of your loved ones, which does nothing at all, why not pray for them? Instead of keeping yourself up and worrying about your children, why not just pray for them? And I don't mean just worry in front of God. I mean, release them to the Lord, trust God to protect them, and just lift them according to the word. Pray against the violence. Pray against calamity. Pray against a random accident that could harm them or kill them. Pray against sickness and disease. My grandmother prays for all her grandchildren since we were born until this day. She prays that no crippling disease would enter our body, no crippling or deadly disease would enter our body. And she prays that if that sickness were to come into contact with our bodies, that that sickness itself would die and that it would not take root and that it would not cause harm. We are people who are of the supernatural. We are people of faith. So let's pray with faith. Let's not just try to analyze everything and think only according to logic, but think according to faith, what the word of God promises, and pray for divine protection from physical harm, from emotional harm, from mental harm, from spiritual harm, from sickness and disease. So let's do that now. Let's lift your loved one to the Lord. Father, in the name of Jesus, I come into agreement with my brother, My sister. And I pray, Lord, that as we lift their loved one to you, that you would fill their hearts with faith, removing all fear. We entrust them to you, Lord. You love our loved ones more than we love them. You care and you delight in every detail of their lives. So Father, we come against all forms of violence. All forms of physical harm, mental harm, emotional harm, spiritual harm. We rebuke every sickness and disease. And we pray, Lord, that you would be the refuge for our loved ones, their strength, their protector. Send your angels before them, clear the path. And Father, we pray that your hand would rest on them, guiding their every step. We cancel every plan of Satan concerning our loved ones. We cancel every plan of destruction, of disease, of sickness, of harm. We speak divine life and protection in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Say it again, if you believe it, say amen. Now we can also pray That our loved ones would find strength under times of temptation. This world is filled with temptation. And if sin were a product, then demons would be like salespeople. They present the sin. They try to entice. They try to encourage them to fall into that temptation, to compromise. You and I can pray that the Lord would strengthen them, just like the Lord prayed for Simon Peter. Look at Luke 22:31-32. Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat, but I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers. Matthew 6:13 says, and don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. That rescuing from the evil one is in the context of temptation. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. The evil one who does what? The evil one who tempts. The evil one who presents sin. You know, the devil will downplay the consequence of sin and sell you on the pleasure of sin. And then he downplays your sin when he's tempting you. And then as soon as you've committed that sin, he blows it out of proportion to to condemn you. It's a real twisted way he attacks believers. So we need to pray that our loved ones would be strengthened in this hour against all of the worldly pleasures that can lead to sin, against all of the things that could cause compromise, against pride that would lead them to take steps that they think are safe steps. They will, they will say to themselves, well, I got it. I can take care of myself. I'm not gonna be like the others. Meanwhile, they're stepping on the path of destruction. So let's pray. And on this point, I don't mean to alienate anyone, but let's especially pray for your children because this world is corrupt and perverse. And you need to pray that your children would be protected from temptation, especially as they meet new friends, they're online, they may be going to some school. You gotta be very careful with that because that is where the enemy can get a foothold, especially when you're not watching. You have no idea what's going on when you're not watching. And I don't mean to inspire paranoia. I do want to inspire vigilance, and we need a reality check. Sometimes we can be a little naive to the ways of the world and just kind of trust that everything is as it should be. You got to be careful. And this is where you have to really be discerning and prayerful. And so, yes, we're going to pray for our loved ones in general to be strengthened under temptation. Pray for your sibling, your parent, your friend, whoever it may be. But let's especially, if you have children, pray for your children right now. Father, in the name of the one whom we serve, we lift our loved ones to you, Lord. And we know that we live in a wicked generation, and we know that the hour is dark, and we know that demonic forces are working against your church and seeking to devour the faith faith of our loved ones. And so, Lord, we lift them to you and we pray that you would give them grace. Cause them to capture a glimpse of your holiness, that they might be holy even as you're holy. Teach them to fear you, Lord. Teach them to tremble at your word. Teach them to have reverence for your name, to honor you, to glorify you, to tread lightly upon the grounds of glory, to understand the privilege of hosting the presence of the Holy Spirit, to understand the responsibility that has been given to them as your servants. And we pray, Lord, for sober minds, Discerning hearts. Cause them to see temptation before it can come close and give them the wisdom to flee that temptation. We come against the voices of the demonic that would seek to downplay sin, that would seek to encourage them in compromise. And we pray that your Holy Spirit would continue to guide them Cause them to be lovers of your presence, that they might be satisfied, wanting for nothing. We give you the praise and the glory and the honor. And again, in Jesus' name we pray. Say it and type it again in the comment section. If you believe it, type amen. The next thing we wanna pray for is a hunger for the word of God. And this really is the foundation for the believer. You can tell when someone is spiritually hungry because there's this discipline that follows that. There's this desire for God's word that follows. Their conversations often go toward the word of God. They're in church, they're worshiping, they're fellowshipping with other believers. And by the way, that hunger for God's word is a sign of spiritual health and vitality. So we need to pray that that hunger for the word would be cultivated in the hearts of our loved ones. In 1 Peter 2:2, we read, like newborn babies, you must crave spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. Psalm 19:10-11 says, they are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. And that's talking about the words of God, the commands of God, his sayings, his truths, that we would be obsessed with the word, that our loved ones would fall in love with the word, that when they wake up, it's the first thing they reach for. That when they go to bed, it's what they're meditating on as they fall asleep. Now let's pray for them. Let's pray that God would give them a supernatural spirit-inspired hunger for the word. Father, we lift our loved ones to you now, and we pray that you would cause them to be lovers of your word, people who meditate on. your word, who read your word, who study your word, who speak your word, who obey your word, who are obsessed with your word. Remove from them every distraction that would keep them from reaching for the scripture. When they wake up, precious Holy Spirit, we pray that you would cause them to reach first for the word, that you would help them to pray to prioritize it, to build their lives around the receiving of the word of God. We thank you, Father, that this desire which comes from the Spirit is being given to those we lift to you today. We thank you, Father. You are good. You are gracious and merciful. Amen. We honor you. In Jesus' name we pray. And I want you to say it and type it if you believe it again, type a big amen. Now, this is big because if a believer can understand who they are in Christ, then that's going to change everything about the way they think and walk. Often people behave a certain way. Maybe they're behaving in compromise. Maybe they're behaving in a sinful manner. Maybe they're behaving in a way that's lowly. Well, it's because they haven't captured a revelation of who they are in Christ. But the moment that someone recognizes who they are in Christ, that they are the righteousness of God in Christ, that they are complete in Christ, that they're a new creation in Christ, that they're forgiven in Christ, that they're empowered in Christ, that they're seated in heavenly places in Christ. I mean, it goes on and on and on. Once they recognize their identity, that changes everything about the way they think, about the way they live, the way they carry themselves, about the way they talk. So if they can get that right, If they can understand who they are, everything flows from there. Ephesians 1:16-18 says this, I've not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light, So that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called his holy people, who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I'm going to read that again. Listen to this. Verse 18. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light. Why? So that you can understand the confident hope that he has given to those he called, and you are his holy people. who are his rich and glorious inheritance, that we would capture this revelation. So many Christians torture themselves mentally and emotionally, and they think that that mental and emotional torture is somehow pleasing to God. It's sacrifice for the sake of sacrifice, pain for the sake of pain. And what we do is we beat ourselves down. I'm nothing, I'm worthless. And we think that that's humility. That's not humility, that's just self-hatred. That's not what God has called us to be. Yes, you were sinners. Yes, you were lowly. Yes, you were caught up in darkness, but now you're the righteousness of God in Christ. And it's in recognizing this new identity, it's in embracing who we are now in Christ, it's in acknowledging with a confident hope that we belong to Him, even when we don't feel like it. That's when everything begins to change for us. So let's pray that for our loved ones now, that they would be confident in their identity in Christ, that they would understand who they are. So Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift our loved ones to you again. And Lord, we come against the work of legalism in their lives, the religious mindset, the burdens of man, And we come against that demonic system in the mighty name of Jesus. And we pray, Father, that there would be a marvelous revelation of grace, that the light of God would shine upon their hearts, causing them to see who they are in Christ, that the truth would be made known in their minds and hearts, that the Holy Spirit would convict them, persuade them, convince them. Confidently that they belong to you. Teach them to recognize the newness of life that they have in Christ. Teach them to recognize the future and hope they have in you. Teach them to be free of their past mistakes, their past sins, their past identity. Teach them to see themselves through the cross. Teach them to see themselves as you see them, Lord. Give them that confident hope. Set them free from false humility. Set them free from religious thinking. Strengthen them in the way of truth. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. Number 6, You can pray for divine wisdom. Now, this is especially helpful in those seasons where they need to make some real life-altering decisions. And it's basically a choice between right and right and right and right. There's no necessarily, there's nothing that's necessarily wrong or sinful. They just don't know which path to take. Maybe they're starting a family. Maybe they're getting married. Maybe they're starting a business. Maybe they're beginning in school, whatever it may be, and they need wisdom to help guide them on the day-to-day. This is where your prayers are going to make a difference. Because as you pray that God would give them wisdom, they're going to be given that ability to access divine reasoning, to see situations the way God sees them, and then to approach them in a way that's going to bring about fruitful, godly, positive results, as opposed to calamity and confusion. Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. So here we see it's possible to pray for wisdom on behalf of others, to pray that God would give them wisdom. Let's do that now. Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift our loved ones to you by faith again. And we pray, Lord, that you would cause them to be filled with divine reasoning, that you would give to them your wisdom. Cause them to see people in situations the way you see them. Cause them to be discerning, to anticipate what may be, to weigh their options according to biblical truth. Give them the courage To take the steps that they know they ought to take. Give them the faith to be bold in those steps. Father, we pray that you would guide them, you would speak to them, that you would cause them to think like you, to think according to your word. Give them wisdom, we pray. Say it again if you believe it. Amen. Amen. Now, number 7, this is something I pray for my Aria and my Lily every night when I'm putting them to bed. Now, when I'm laying hands on them, I keep it short. My 8-month-old Lily, she moves her head around. She's not too fond of it, but she'll get used to it. And then Aria knows to bow her head and to pray. And something I pray for Aria and Lily and every night is that they would draw closer to God. You're never too young to have an encounter with God. I was 11 years old when I was saved. I was 13 years old when I began preaching the gospel. And during that season of my life, I had many encounters with God. And while others looked at me as too young and were a bit dismissive, what God was doing in my life was real. So never discount what God can do in the life of your child. Now, again, I don't mean to alienate anybody, but I think it's important to emphasize these prayers over our children. Pray that your loved ones would have an encounter with God. Pray that your loved ones would know the presence of the Holy Spirit. I pray that every night. I pray that they would be drawn closer to God, that they would have encounters with God at a young age, that they would know him from early on. Even if your loved ones are up there in age, it doesn't matter. It's never too late for this. So I'm gonna read to you Exodus 33:14-16, then we're gonna pray. Look at Moses' attitude here, I love this. The Lord replied, I will go personally with you, Moses, and I will give you rest. Everything will be fine for you. Then Moses said, if you don't personally go with us, Don't make us leave this place. How will anyone know that you look favorably on me and on your people if you don't go with us? For your presence among us sets your people and me apart from all other people on earth. Moses understood the only difference about us is the presence of God. And we need to have that attitude like Moses had. That if your presence isn't involved, I don't want it. That's the priority. The presence is the priority. And we need to pray for our loved ones that they would have this same attitude, that they would have a passion for the presence of the Holy Spirit, that they would have encounters with God, and that they would know the presence of God. Father, in the name of Jesus, even now, come on, say it by faith, even now, Lord, Let our loved ones encounter you. Speak to them in dreams and visions. Speak to them when they're praying. Surprise them even when they're not praying. In moments of worship, manifest your presence to them. In moments of confusion, fear, sorrow, let them sense you near to them. Father, cause them to love and to understand and to know your presence. Cause them not just to have encounters, but to live in an encounter with you. May your presence rest on them, on their homes, on their cars, on their clothes, everywhere they go, on anything they touch. Let there be the tangible touch of your glorious presence permeate their lives. Draw them closer to you. Take them to higher heights and deeper depths, we pray. In the name of Jesus, we pray. I want you to type it if you agree. Type amen. And actually, while you're at it, why don't you go ahead and type your loved one's name names in the comment section. And let's all have a big prayer chain here. I wanna read a verse to you here, a portion of scripture. It's 1 Corinthians 9:13-14. Don't you realize that those who work in the temple get their meals from the offerings brought to the temple? And those who serve at the altar get a share of the sacrificial offerings? In the same way, the Lord ordered that those who preach the good news should be supported by those who benefit from it. Now, I pray that the church recaptures this revelation. You know, as I often say, there are extremes to many different things. And I think in the church world, we have 2 extremes when it comes to this particular topic. On one extreme, we have preachers who only preach for money. They make the whole gospel about money, and it's nothing but money that they talk about. On the other extreme, We have believers who think that it's inappropriate to talk about money or that they're not obligated to give when they receive the word from a ministry. Those are 2 very unhealthy extremes. Now, biblically speaking, it's of God, it's right, it's orderly to respond to the preaching of the word with a financial gift. Now, you've received the word of God from this ministry. So I wanna give you an opportunity to be blessed by sowing back into the ministry from which you received the word. Help this ministry continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ all around the world through events, media, and church planting. Your gift helps us continue to produce content like this, to host events around the world, and to plant churches across various different locations. Get involved.
