Jeremiah Tipton teaches that believers are already complete and mature in their union with God's Spirit. Spiritual growth isn't about gaining more of God's love or power, but recognizing what's already true about you and letting that inner reality shape how you live.

I wanna share with you one of my favorite portions of Scripture, 1 Corinthians 2, beginning at verse 10. But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit, for His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets. No one can know a person's thoughts except that person's own spirit, and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit. And we have received God's Spirit, not the world's spirit, So we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. Now here, Paul the Apostle is describing that inner fellowship that you and I have with God. The depths of God's Spirit search out the deep things of God, and the depths of who you are, your spirit, communes with the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 tells us, He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. This means that in the Spirit, you have perfect union with God. Your spirit has joined with His Spirit. Now think about what this means for us today. That means that all that God desires you to be and to have, you are. And so then spiritual growth isn't the attainment of these things. I'm not trying to get His love. I'm not trying to get His grace. I'm not trying to get His power. Rather, spiritual growth is when rest of who I am catches up with who I already am in the Spirit. So who I am in the Spirit is complete. Who I am in the Spirit is mature. Who I am in the Spirit knows God. And now I must live in a way, surrender to the Word of God, that helps to allow the influence of who I am within to affect who I am without. Who I am in the Spirit to change who I am and how I behave in the natural world.
