Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish builders shows that hardship is inevitable for believers. Those who build their lives on Scripture stand firm when trials hit; those who build on sand collapse. The point: apply God's Word actively to become unbreakable.

Jesus is telling us that in life, storms will come. Just because we're saved, just because God loves us, doesn't mean that bad things won't happen to us. Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash. Jesus is telling us that in life, Storms will come. Just because we're saved, just because God loves us, doesn't mean that bad things won't happen to us. But if you build your life on the Word and you apply that scripture, then when the storms come, you'll remain standing.
