1:13

In this short sermon, the speaker emphasizes that every believer possesses a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit, regardless of doubt or self‑perception. He presents two practical applications: (1) recognizing that all Christians have a gift and should not let fleshly doubts or enemy lies disqualify them from God’s plan, and (2) understanding that gifts are given to the church for service, not for personal status or show. He warns against flaunting gifts as personal achievements, noting that while the operation of gifts can attract attention, their purpose is to serve as a means to an end. The talk concludes with a call to explore further resources at encounterthespirit.com.

One verse, 2 powerful applications. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. First application, we should note that every believer has a spiritual gift. Each one of us has received a gift from the Holy Spirit. I know that some doubt that, but whether you believe it or not, feel it or not, or think you deserve it or not, that's the reality. You have a spiritual gift. So don't believe the doubts of the flesh or the lies of the enemy. Don't count yourself out of God's plan. Don't think yourself unnecessary to the body of Christ. Second application, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to the church not for show or status, but for service. They're not rewards, they're responsibilities. The spiritual gifts are not given so that we can make ourselves important through their use. And far too many flaunt the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives as if the gifts are based on their own abilities. Sadly, many make a show of their gifts. Now, of course, the use of the gifts can be exciting and interesting to watch in operation, They even draw people, and that's fine. And while there's nothing wrong with the buzz surrounding the gifts, we mustn't forget their purpose. They are a means to an end, not the end themselves.
