In this sermon excerpt, the speaker warns that lust deceives by promising satisfaction while delivering shame and cycles of sin. He asserts that sin never fulfills its promises and only Christ can truly satisfy. The speaker urges listeners to hunger for righteousness, exposing lust’s lies with God’s truth, and to rely on the Holy Spirit’s empowerment to walk in purity, thereby breaking the power of lust and experiencing freedom.
Lust promises satisfaction. It says, this sin will be worth it. The consequences will be light. Now, that's obviously deception, and those under that deception become stuck in cycles of sin and then shame. The truth is, sin never delivers what it promises. Only Christ satisfies. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. The power of lust is broken when you expose its root lies and choose to believe the truth instead. The Word reminds you that you're not a slave The Spirit empowers you to walk in purity. You don't have to live in that cycle. You don't have to give in to that lie. Replace lust's deception with God's truth, and freedom will follow. When you hunger for righteousness, lust loses its appeal.
