Your motives matter when you pray. Yes, ask God for blessing, but don't forget gratitude. Yes, ask God to increase you, but don't forget to thank Him for what He's already increased. Yes, ask God to give you more, but remember that it's more of a responsibility than it is a reward. Are your prayers self-centered or are they Christ-centered? Are your prayers self-centered or are they others-centered? Do you pray to just get? Or do you pray so that you can become a blessing?
