Christians can't be Cursed

A Christian teacher argues believers can't be cursed because they receive Abraham's blessing through the Holy Spirit. Bad things happen as natural consequences of sin in a fallen world, not generational curses. God's chastening aims to restore, not punish, and your legal standing before God depends on grace through faith, not perfection.

Let's let the Bible settle this once and for all. Absolutely not. Christians cannot be cursed. Let me read this verse to you. Galatians 3:14 says, he redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit within you is proof of the blessing of God upon you. So why is it that bad things happen And sometimes, or why does it seem like there might be this hex that's been placed over you? Think about this. There are consequences to sin. Those are naturally occurring in this world because this world exists in a fallen state. If you commit a sin, you will reap the consequences of those actions. But it's not because your grandfather generations back did some misdeed. No, God holds you accountable for what you do. Think about this. Think also about how there are certain conditions that are set by previous generations. But just because the conditions are set doesn't mean that ultimately we are fated to fall into the same problems that the generations before us fell into. Think also about how God chastises those whom he loves. But that's not for punishment, that's for restoration. So yes, God has blessed you, and that blessing comes by grace through faith when you receive the Holy Spirit. Now, some might raise the point and say, well, What about legal right? Well, think about this. How do we receive our legal standing as Christians? We receive our legal standing, which is justified, by grace through faith. So by believing on the Lord Jesus, we now are legally, in the sight of God, justified. And that has nothing to do with our perfection. That's Christ's perfection at work. And we receive of that perfection by faith. And really think about it. If the enemy could curse you because of some big mistake that you made, and that brings upon you some big curse, then that would naturally mean that the enemy could curse you in a small way for every small mistake. So then every act of disobedience, every mistake, every bad thought would result in you having to break some curse or some hex through some random ritual that we don't see in Scripture. So you can rest assured, yes, Christians can face the consequences of their sin. Yes, Christians can live in conditions that were set by previous generations. And yes, Christians will be chastised by God when they commit a mistake or when they just live a lifestyle of disobedience. But in terms of the curse, that is to be cut off from God, that is to lack his blessing, that is to lack his favor and his love, that's not possible for the Christian. Subscribe for more. I have a teaching actually on this channel in regards to curses. I'll leave it in the comment section for you.
