Confidence looks like arrogance to the insecure. When you put your faith in God, you're trading your weakness for his strength, your inability for his immense power. This sort of confidence in God helps you to walk through trials with peace, heartache with joy, and confusing situations with divine clarity. But this sort of confidence also invites the criticism of those who don't understand why you are so spiritually poised. Doubt is threatened by faith. Insecurity is threatened by confidence. Because of this, as you walk in confidence, as you live set apart, others will label you as arrogant. Healthy confidence is so foreign to some that it's offensive. But don't allow yourself to respond with bitterness or harshness. Instead, keep your eyes on Jesus. Stay focused on the mission he gave you. Insecurity brings forth criticism. Criticism brings forth insecurity. So don't allow their opinions to shake your confidence. In who you are in Christ, who Christ is in you.
