In this sermon, the speaker asserts that believers already possess an intimate, on‑the‑spot relationship with the Holy Spirit, and that any perceived distance is merely a lack of awareness. He explains that at the moment of regeneration a believer is united with the Spirit, so the task is not to draw the Spirit nearer but to become conscious of His constant presence. Emotional tension—frustration, fear, doubt—blocks this awareness, so the speaker urges listeners to rest in childlike faith rather than striving or pleading. He offers a practical shift in prayer language: instead of asking for the Spirit’s presence, thank Him for being present, and similarly thank God for hearing. This gratitude‑based posture, he claims, makes daily encounters with the Holy Spirit effortless. The talk concludes with an invitation to a free two‑day event in Orlando, Florida, on February 20‑21, with registration at holyspiritevents.com.

Listen, there's nothing stopping you from having daily encounters with the Holy Spirit. You can walk with the Holy Spirit every single day of your life. Now, some might say that's unrealistic. Others might doubt or say something like, but I've tried to have encounters with God and it just never works. Or you might say, God just ignores me. Maybe that's you. Maybe you're one who feels frustrated by what feels like a great distance between you and the Lord. So let's pause for a moment. Put aside the frustration or any disappointment that might be there. And I want to share something with you that I believe can help you in this area. Remember this: for the believer, the only distance that can exist between you and the Holy Spirit is your unawareness of his presence. You see, the Holy Spirit abides with you. At the very moment that you put your faith in Jesus, you were born again. And the moment you were born again, you experienced divine union, that is, oneness with the precious Holy Spirit. But the person who is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him. So it's not a matter of the Holy Spirit coming closer to you, but of you becoming more aware of Him. This is where simple faith comes in. So long as you're frustrated or emotionally tense, there's no room for faith. In fact, some Christians are so emotionally worked up about trying to have encounters with God that they get in their own way. How can you walk in childlike faith if you're operating in fear? Frustration or doubt. So instead of trying to work your way into an encounter with God or reason your way or beg your way, just rest in this life-changing reality. He already has you and you already have him. No work to be done, no spiritual quota to meet, just oneness. Now, with that in mind, when you set your mind and heart on God, you don't pray from a distance, but rather from that union. Try this. When you wake up in the morning, instead of saying, Holy Spirit, be with me, say, Holy Spirit, thank you for being here with me. Instead of saying, God, please hear me, say, God, thank you that you hear me. Instead of asking for his presence, thank him for his presence. That's faith. And from that place of faith, daily encounters with the Holy Spirit become easy. I believe that God has a divine appointment for you. And I believe that you're going to encounter the presence and power of the Holy Spirit like never before. So join us on February 20th and 21st in Orlando, Florida.
