In this sermon, the speaker warns that doubt silences the Holy Spirit’s guidance, citing James 1:5‑8 to illustrate how second‑guessing prayers leads to divided loyalty and diminished spiritual influence. He argues that believers often prioritize experts, influencers, and toxic self‑talk over God’s voice, which results in paralysis and fear. The speaker urges listeners to choose faith and obedience over over‑thinking, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead. He concludes by promoting his book, “Holy Spirit: God Within You,” and directs the audience to encounterthespirit.com for further resources.

The Holy Spirit isn't silent. You've just turned up the volume on doubt. James 1:5-8 reveals a sobering truth. Doubt doesn't just delay your breakthrough, it disrupts your response to the Holy Spirit's guidance. When you constantly second-guess what you hear in prayer, you don't look cautious, you reveal divided loyalty. You're asking God for wisdom, but you're trusting other voices more. This mindset minimizes the Spirit's influence. You might pray for direction, but then refuse to move until you get a sign, paralyzed by fear of being wrong. You listen more closely to Experts, influencers, and friends than the word that never fails. And worst of all, toxic self-talk becomes your internal compass, drowning out God's affirmations with lies like, I'm not good enough, or, why would God use me? The Holy Spirit can't lead a mind that won't follow. So choose faith over fear, obedience over overthinking. Let his voice rise above the noise. Listen, I wrote a book to help you understand the nature of the Holy Spirit, so you can get Holy Spirit: God Within You at encounterthespirit.com.
