In this brief sermon, the speaker likens the Holy Spirit’s influence to a powerful, unstoppable river. He emphasizes that believers cannot fight or force the Spirit’s actions; whatever the Spirit intends will happen regardless of human resistance, and what the Spirit does not intend cannot be compelled by human effort. The core teaching is to cease resisting or trying to control the Holy Spirit and instead to flow with its direction, trusting its sovereign power.

When it comes to the Holy Spirit's influence, it's like a mighty flowing river. You cannot fight him, you cannot force him, you can only flow with him. Now, when I say you cannot fight him, I mean that if there's something that he wants to do, he's going to accomplish it even if you try to stop him. And if there's something that he doesn't want to do, you can't force him to do it no matter how hard you try. So when it comes to the Holy Spirit's power, don't fight, don't force, just flow.
