A sermon warning that years of consistent prayer and Bible reading don't obligate God to bless you. True faithfulness requires both sustained action and the right heart attitude. Consistency without godly attitude is entitlement, a dangerous misunderstanding of how faith works.
Chapters
God is not obligated to bless us just because we've done something for an extended period of time. How many times have you heard people say, you know, I'm on good behavior, I haven't committed any major sins for the last several years, I've been consistent with reading the Word and praying, now God owes me. And that is entitlement. That is dangerous. That is an attitude that misunderstands the dynamic between you and the Lord. Entitlement is not faithfulness, because faithfulness isn't just about doing something over a long period of time. Faithfulness is about doing something over a long period of time with excellence and with the right attitude. Faithfulness isn't just consistent action. Faithfulness is also consistent godly attitude.
