In this sermon excerpt, the speaker warns that the current generation lacks fear of God and reverence for His word, leading believers to delay obedience to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. He emphasizes that once a divine instruction is received, immediate responsiveness is required; postponement not only constitutes disobedience but also gradually diminishes the Holy Spirit’s influence in a person’s life. The speaker urges listeners to act without hesitation and promotes the resource “Holy Spirit: God Within You” available at encounterthespirit.com for further learning about discerning the Spirit’s voice.

We lack the fear of God in this generation. We lack the reverence for his word. How many times have you heard a fellow believer say, well, you know, the Lord is dealing with me on this issue, or, you know, the Holy Spirit has really been speaking to me regarding that situation, and they are delaying as if they don't need to obey right away. Listen to me. Once you know what the instruction is, we ought to be responsive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, not resistant to his instructions. The more you do this, the longer you delay, the harder it will become to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. As you delay, As you wait, as you stand there frozen in fear, as you stand there frozen in the comforts of the current lifestyle that you have or the current decisions that you've made, as you stand there in your own preferences, little by little, the influence of the precious Holy Spirit is being diminished in your life. And so when the Holy Spirit tells you to do something, don't hold back. Delay is disobedience.
