God gave you specific gifts and a plan for your life. Surrounding yourself with people who prioritize fun and chaos over productivity triggers the Holy Spirit's conviction. That warning isn't about denying joy, but about not wasting the time and abilities you've been given.
You have to learn to discipline yourself and focus your mind that you might maximize the time and the energy that God has given to you. Life is sacred. God's given to you as a gift. When he created you, he created you for a purpose. He created you with a plan. He put gifts inside of you, abilities, and he wants you to make use of that which he's deposited in you. So if the people you're hanging around oversleep, overeat, never take care of their health, never set any goals, they're always late, they're Their schedule's chaotic, they're always focused more so on what is fun rather than what is productive, then you need to hear that warning from the Holy Spirit because you'll sense that conviction. Why is the Holy Spirit grieving within you in that instance? It's not because the Holy Spirit doesn't want you to ever enjoy your life. It's not because the Holy Spirit doesn't want you to have friends or spend time with people in a way that you enjoy. Rather, it's that the Holy Spirit doesn't want you to waste that sacred gift of life that God has given to you.
