In this sermon, the speaker reflects on the Transfiguration of Jesus, emphasizing that the disciples witnessed a unique, intimate revelation of Christ’s glory through the Holy Spirit. He draws a clear distinction between praising God—responding to observable works such as healing and miracles—and worshiping God, which requires a deeper, Spirit‑led revelation that lifts the veil of the heart. The speaker stresses that true worship arises only when one has caught a glimpse of God’s holiness, often experienced in ‘mountaintop’ moments facilitated by the Holy Spirit. He connects this experience to biblical examples, such as Isaiah’s vision, where the cry of “holy” signifies a captured revelation of God’s nature. The overall message urges listeners to seek intimate, Spirit‑filled encounters that move beyond external praise to heartfelt worship of God’s pure, holy being.

And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as light. Now here we see that they saw the glory of Jesus in a way that the others did not. In that moment of intimacy, in that secret place, the place of solitude, Jesus revealed his glory by the Holy Spirit. You know, you can praise him for what he does. You can praise him for the healing. You can praise him for the deliverance, for the breakthrough, for the miracle, but you worship him for who he is. Amen. More than receiving from the hand of God, we ought to aspire to be people who touch the heart of God, people of the mountaintop. Only by the Holy Spirit can revelation come. You can clap without a revelation, you can dance without a revelation, you can sing without a revelation, You can shout without a revelation, but you cannot worship without a revelation. Amen. Because when we praise him, we praise him in response to what we see in the natural. But when we worship him, it's because we've caught a glimpse behind the veil. And only the Holy Spirit can lift that veil from the heart. This is why in moments when you're raptured in glorious worship, you're misunderstood, because people don't understand why you respond the way you respond to the presence of Jesus. It's because you've caught a glimpse of the glory, and there's nothing more beautiful. It's because you've known the sweetness of his presence, the purity, the loveliness, the beauty of all that he is. That is what his holiness is. He stands alone as holy. The entirety of his being, his nature, his heart, his will, his power— that's his holiness. This is why in the scripture, when revelation was caught, people would fall down and cry, holy! This is why in Isaiah's vision, as he saw heavenly beings flying around, They cried holy, because when we cry holy, we've captured that glimpse of God.
