Finding Your Prayer Flow

Jeremiah Tipton teaches that when prayer feels stuck, the answer isn't forcing words but waiting on the Holy Spirit. He describes waiting as disciplined stillness that eventually releases into effortless prayer, like breathing, bringing spiritual renewal and strength.

Have you ever tried to pray only to find yourself wondering where to begin? Your mind cluttered, your heart restless, unsure of what to say. You want to enjoy fellowship with God, but the words just don't seem to flow. That wall of silence can feel very discouraging. But Jesus said in Matthew 26, couldn't you men keep watch with me for 1 hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. Now, this is key right here. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. You see, the flesh resists prayer, but the The Spirit within you longs for communion with God. And here's the good news: you have a helper. Romans 8:26 reminds us, and the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. So what do you do when you don't know what to pray? Here's a simple yet powerful key: you wait. Stop striving. Stop trying to force words. Stop working formulas. Just wait on Him. Psalm 80:18 says, Quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. First comes the quickening of the Spirit, and then prayer flows. At first, waiting may feel tense. 5 minutes pass, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and still nothing. But if you refuse to give up, there comes a moment A sudden moment where the distractions fade. Doubt is silenced, fear subsides, and then prayer becomes like breathing, rhythmic and natural. It's like striking a spring of water in the middle of a desert. Isaiah 40:31 declares, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. Waiting positions you for renewal. It's in the stillness that the Spirit quickens your heart and fills you with supernatural strength. Now, many believers get in their own way because they're demanding a very specific type of encounter, or they chase after what someone else experienced instead of just surrendering to what God is doing in the moment. Real encounters come not by striving, but through surrender. So when you don't know what to pray, don't panic. Don't force it. Just wait. The Holy Spirit's already found To be on the flow, you simply need to yield to him. When words fail, waiting speaks louder than anything you could say.
