In this short devotional testimony, the speaker recounts a childhood memory of a dramatic encounter during a church worship service. While the congregation sang and danced, loud thuds were heard at the back door and firemen rushed in, expecting a blaze. The firemen, prepared to evacuate, found no smoke or flames. An usher explained that the “fire” the neighborhood reported was not physical but a supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit – the “fire of the Holy Ghost” that cannot be extinguished by man. The story emphasizes the tangible presence of God’s Spirit in worship and concludes with a promotional call‑to‑action directing listeners to the resource “Holy Spirit: God Within You” at EncounterTheSpirit.com.

As a young boy, my dad witnessed a supernatural manifestation of God's presence in a small church building. During a jubilant moment of praise and worship, while the people of God were singing and dancing, loud thuds were heard on the back door of the church. Suddenly, firemen rushed into the building, seemingly prepared to evacuate everyone. Their readied stances slowly relaxed as they looked around in confusion. Can we help you? A church usher asked one of the firemen. Yes, he replied. We've been getting calls from around the neighborhood. People reported flames and smoke coming from the top of this building, I don't see any smoke or fire anywhere. Where's the fire? The usher smiled and explained, the only fire here is one that can't be put out by man. It's the fire of the Holy Ghost. What the neighborhood was seeing wasn't a physical fire, but a supernatural manifestation of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
