Generosity isn't a deal with God for money back. It's a discipline that breaks money's grip on you, shifting you from selfish to selfless. When you learn to give, you become someone God can trust with more.
Chapters
Generosity causes you to become someone who can be entrusted with more. It's not a magic act. We don't treat God like He's a vending machine where, okay, if I put in $100, you gotta give me back $1,000. If I put in $1,000, you gotta give me back $10,000. Rather, what's happening here is that as you give, you're learning to not allow money to control you. You're learning to release it. You're learning to understand that generosity is a part of prosperity. And what that does is it transforms you as an individual. It turns your heart from selfishness to selflessness. It helps you to grow a love of helping others. And so that generosity causes you to be shaped into someone that can handle more of the resources that God wants to give.
