A pastor tells believers who fear they've blown it with God that correction isn't rejection. God's patience and kindness never abandon you, even when His correction feels harsh. He's always working toward restoration, not punishment.

You could be in any degree of compromise. It could be outright rebellion. It could be just simple hesitation and compromise. Or it could be that you're actively pursuing God's call, but you find yourself making mistakes and you're worried. Did I ruin everything? Did I lose the hand of God? Did I lose my calling? Did I miss the boat? Did I wait too long? Has time passed me by to pursue God's call? And I want you to remember this, you as his child, his correction is never about rejection. It's always about restoration. There's this idea that at a certain point with his children, God will say, well, that's it, I'm done with you now. No, he doesn't abandon his children. The Holy Spirit is patient. He is more patient than we are sinful. He is more forbearing than we are stubborn. He won't give up on you. He is kind. He does not deal harshly with us as we might deserve. When he speaks, though sometimes directly so, there is a kindness to his voice. Even his correction is redemption.
