Satan operates like a python, gradually tightening his grip through doubt and compromise. He first questions God's Word, then contradicts it, shifting your thoughts and actions until you contradict Scripture yourself. The defense: reject his voice and stop questioning what God said.
Chapters
The deception of the enemy, like a python, progressively entangles you. Think about the fact that when Satan tempted Adam and Eve, he began first by questioning the Word. Did God really say? And then after questioning the Word, he contradicts the Word. This is a very subtle attack of the enemy. He first begins to get you to doubt. He first begins to get you to compromise. You wouldn't outright rebel against God as a believer, but if the enemy can slowly but surely get you to think differently, if he can get you to get around the wrong people, go to the wrong places, develop the wrong mindsets, you fall into deception. And slowly the enemy can get you to question the word, to get a little bit closer to that line of compromise. And before you know it, you're contradicting the word. So don't listen to the voice of Satan. Don't question God's word.
