Steven Moctezuma confronted the speaker about unproductive behavior during ministry growth. Instead of fixing systems, the speaker criticized and nagged until he apologized and made changes. Proverbs 9:8-9 shows that the wise welcome correction and grow, while mockers reject it and stay stuck.

Here's a major sign that you're growing spiritually. You can receive correction. Years ago, when our ministry first began to really see massive growth, we experienced growing pains. Trying to adjust to the growth, our team began to miss important details, and I started to become frustrated. But instead of giving my team better systems, instead of improving communication for clarity, instead of taking effective steps toward improvement, I began to complain and critique and nag for several weeks. Finally, my brother, Steven Moctezuma, pulled me to the side. He said, Dig, I love you, your team loves you, and we enjoy working with you. But if you don't stop acting like a diva, eventually nobody's gonna wanna work with you anymore. I received the correction, apologized to my team, and we all made improvements together. Now, I can't help but wonder what would have happened had I continued down that path. Thank God for friends who aren't afraid to correct and confront. So don't bother correcting mockers, they will only hate you. But correct the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous and they will learn even more. That's Proverbs 9:8-9. Too many Christians perceive correction as attack. If they're not validated in their every thought, feeling, and perception, then they label those around them as toxic or mean. Don't embrace such thinking. Instead, allow yourself to grow to the place where you embrace when others close to you you lovingly point out where you got it wrong. Humble yourself, receive correction from those God has placed in your life.
