Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth. Could this be the most important key to prayer? How do you approach God? Do you approach him wondering if he hears you? Do you imagine that he's just barely tolerating you? Do you constantly beg and plead for his attention? When you approach God as if he has to be convinced to listen, you become discouraged and might even lose your passion for prayer because you see connection with God as something to be worked for. But we don't pray to connect with God. We pray from connection with God. When you pray, you can't forget what could very well be the most important key to prayer: faith. Approach God boldly, knowing that he's already listening, and happily so.
