If you wanna stop secretly struggling with lust, if you're tired of the torment of the mind, then I challenge you within the next 24 hours, go to a trusted friend. Go to someone who knows the Lord, who loves the Lord, who loves you, who's gracious and merciful, and who's gonna help you and walk alongside you. Accountability isn't punishment. Accountability is support rooted in loving acceptance. Often we talk about accountability as if it's bringing down the hammer on someone and shaming them and making sure that they feel bad for what they're doing. And though you should feel grieved over your sin, sin, accountability really is a support system. People that you can trust, people that you can go to who aren't going to go blasting your mistakes all over social media. They're not going to go gossiping behind your back, who won't cast you aside simply because you're struggling, but who will lovingly embrace you and say, we're going to help you to get this right.
