Jesus won on the cross, which means his followers can advance God's kingdom with confidence. The Great Commission commands disciples to make disciples of all nations, and the speaker argues the harvest is vast, not failing, even though workers are few.

Jesus already won the victory, and because of that victory, we can march forward to advance his kingdom through the spreading of the gospel. Jesus came and told his disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. Be sure of this: I'm with you always, Even to the end of the age. To paraphrase, I reign, so now you can disciple nations. Jesus said we would make disciples of the nations. To me, this doesn't sound like a mostly failed mission where we hope to pick up a few souls here and there. This is a description of a vast harvest of souls. Yes, Jesus said that the way to God is narrow, but he also said this: And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world from east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the kingdom of heaven. He also plainly told us the harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest. Ask him to send more workers into his fields. This isn't a contradiction. Jesus was speaking to 2 different audiences, one at the time being very closed to the gospel. All of that considered, we are still left with the clear mandate to disciple nations, and we can fulfill this mandate because Christ has cleared the way by his victory.
