Jesus is already present in believers through the Holy Spirit, not waiting to appear. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells within each believer, enabling direct conversation and friendship with Jesus. When you read Scripture, the author sits beside you through the Spirit.
You know, I often hear Christians remark things like, well, I wish Jesus were here, or I wish I could have Jesus come over to my house, or I wish I could just share a meal with Jesus. But do you realize that Jesus is with you by the Holy Spirit? The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, that you have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, conversation with the Holy Spirit, friendship with the Holy Spirit, connection with the Holy Spirit, union with the Holy Spirit even now, so that when you go to read the Word of God, you're not doing it alone. You have the author sitting right there. right beside you. The Spirit of Jesus sits next to you. He fellowships with you.
