Prayer in the Spirit means letting the Holy Spirit guide and power your requests, not trying to earn God's acceptance through effort. You're already accepted. Pray with confidence, trusting the Spirit to lead every word.
To pray in the Spirit is to pray with the Holy Spirit's guidance, by the Holy Spirit's power, and according to the Holy Spirit's will. Ephesians 6:18 says, and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Since we pray in the Spirit and not within our own strength, this would have to mean that prayer begins in union with the Holy Spirit. Prayer isn't begging to be accepted by God. True prayer can result because you're already accepted. So the next time you go to pray, accept that you've been accepted and pray with confidence in the Spirit. He's guiding you every step of the way.
