Jesus perfectly reflected the Father by moving exactly in step with God's will. The speaker warns against resisting or rushing the Holy Spirit, urging believers instead to slow down and flow with it, becoming reflections of the Son by walking in step with divine grace.
Chapters
Jesus lived as a reflection of the Father. Go look in the mirror and try to outpace your reflection. First of all, it'd be kind of scary if your reflection actually lagged behind. But think about the fact that you can't outpace your reflection. It copies you exactly. Jesus was a reflection of the Father. He was that light reflection that did exactly as He saw His Father doing. He didn't jump ahead of God's will. He didn't lag behind God's will. He walked the pace of grace. He flowed with the Holy Spirit. He didn't fight Him and he didn't try to force Him. Some of us, we do that. We fight the Holy Spirit because He's asking us to do something that we don't wanna do, or at least not in the time that we wanna do it. We say, later, Holy Spirit, I'll do it. And then we try to force the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit is saying, wait. We're saying, no, we want it now, now, now. Don't fight Him, that is resist Him. Don't force Him, that is try to rush Him. Instead, flow with Him. Be that reflection. Just as Jesus is a reflection of the Father, so we should be a reflection of the Son. And we do that by walking with the Holy Spirit. But you're not going to be able to walk with the Holy Spirit if your life is too fast-paced.
