A pastor argues that hearing God's voice isn't enough. Many Christians debate or make excuses instead of obeying immediately. Real sensitivity to the Holy Spirit means acting on what you hear, not wrestling with it afterward.

When he speaks, you respond. Far too many are just dismissive of the voice of the Holy Spirit. He'll speak something to their heart, and instead of acting upon what he's spoken, they battle, they wrestle, they try to reason with God, they try to debate with him, they try to give their list of excuses as if those excuses can protect them from the instructions that God has given to them. Well, let's not debate. Let's not make excuses. Let's instead be responsive to The voice of the Holy Spirit and respond right away. Sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit isn't just being able to hear him clearly. I mean, you hear Christians brag about this all the time. Oh, I'm so sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. I hear God speaking to me all the time. And that's wonderful, but sensitivity doesn't stop there. Sensitivity isn't just about your ability to clearly hear him, but your willingness to immediately respond when he speaks.
