A pastor warns that receiving a divine promise or vision can breed pride, making you see yourself as above service and collaboration. Small pride grows into obstacles that derail your calling. Jesus taught that greatness comes through serving others.
Chapters
Far too many receive the promise of God, they receive a dream, a vision, and instead of remaining humble, they become filled with pride. They allow that seed of corruption to be planted early. They become excited about the way that God is using them, and therefore they think they're above service. They think they're above joining hands with other believers in the work of ministry, or in the work of volunteering, or the work of church. And in so doing, they actually set themselves up for future failure, because this is something you have to deal with when it's small, when it's a little issue, so that it doesn't grow into something that will ultimately derail your entire calling. We as believers have to keep in mind the words of Jesus. Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.
