A speaker calls for total commitment to Jesus, not half-hearted faith. Using the biblical image of plowing, he argues that looking back or wavering disqualifies you from God's kingdom. Discipleship demands your whole life, not just part of it.
Chapters
Jesus demands the entirety of our world from the very moment we say yes to him. Make up your mind that you're going to follow Jesus. Make up your mind that you're going after the call of God for your life, even if no one else goes with you. Make up your mind that you're gonna be a disciple of Christ, even when others mock you. But Jesus told him, anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. You need to make that determination now, that no matter what comes up in the future, no matter what disappointments, no matter who abandons you, no matter what setbacks you face, that you're going to follow Jesus. When you make a commitment to Jesus, it's a lifelong commitment. He's not a priority, he's the priority.
