A pastor warns against waiting for the perfect life circumstances—marriage, a job, a degree, debt freedom—before serving God. He calls this procrastination and says your gifts and opportunities exist now, not in some future version of yourself.
And I think far too many have this ideal version of themselves somewhere off in the future. And they say, well, if I can just get to that place, then I'm going to start trying my best. If I can get married, get that job, get that degree, pay off that debt, get that house, buy that property, then when I get to that place, now I can really come into the place. I'm going to maximize my potential, do everything as unto the Lord. But the fact of the matter is, that's not going to happen until you begin to use well what God has given you now. Mm-hmm.
