This is so key. The enemy knows that if he can remove the Word from your life, that he can then begin to gain influence. The devil has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Notice first that before he can kill and destroy, he has to steal. Well, what does he steal? He steals the Word from your life. This is why it's so difficult for you to go and read. And then all of a sudden when you go to read, there's distraction, there's emotional turmoil, there's mental anguish, There's distractions all around you in the natural realm. This is because the enemy wants to do everything he can to remove the Word from your life. It is your first line of defense.
