Maybe you've heard this saying before. It's pretty common. Christians often say it. They'll say something like, well, the world has happiness, but Christians have joy. And that's a little bit of an odd statement because technically happiness and joy are almost synonymous. And so it's not as though the world doesn't understand what happiness is. So what is the difference between worldly joy and divine joy? The source. And because nothing can outlast its source. When we receive our joy from the Holy Spirit, it's joy overflowing. It's joy eternal. And so because we have the Holy Spirit within us, the Holy Spirit gives us this divine joy, this supernatural happiness, if you will, that is stable and consistent even in troubling times.
