The anointing is the Holy Spirit's power to make believers dangerous to hell and stale religion, not a comfort. Jesus was anointed to heal and overcome oppression. Every believer already has it through the Holy Spirit, so stop begging for what you possess.
There's an anointing that doesn't make your life more comfortable. It makes you dangerous. Dangerous to the kingdom of hell and dangerous to the dead religious thinking that keeps trying to stifle the Holy Spirit. Think about Acts 10:38. And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. That is what the anointing is. It's simply the power of the Holy Spirit. And it didn't stop with Jesus. This is where many people get it backwards. They think the anointing is for a special few, the preacher on the platform, the person everyone calls so anointed. So they spend their lives begging God for something they already carry. 1 John 2:27 says, you have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you. You already have the Holy Spirit. You already carry the anointing. So the goal was never to get more of the anointing. The goal is to yield to what's already been deposited within you.
