Jeremiah Tipton teaches that disobedience blocks you from hearing God's voice. Shame, condemnation, and a cluttered mind create spiritual barriers that make you doubt God wants to speak. The fix is returning to obedience.
Disobedient people have trouble hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. This isn't because God isn't speaking to them. This isn't because God doesn't want to give them instruction. Many times Christians have trouble hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit because in their disobedience, they pick up distractions like shame, like condemnation, a cluttered mind, like a lowly disposition. In fact, disobedience makes it difficult for you to believe that God even wants to speak to you. When all we have to do is come back to the place of obedience.
