A sermon on three false gospels: prosperity gospel (material wealth), gospel of works (earning salvation), and grace-abusing gospel (sin without consequence). The true gospel is Christ's sacrifice that reconciles believers to God and produces genuine holiness.

Here are 3 false gospels you need to watch out for. Number 1, the prosperity gospel. No, it's not a sin to have wealth, and yes, biblical principles of financial sowing and reaping are true. But when you make the gospel all about the acquisition of wealth and material goods, when you imagine that a relationship with God is only for the purpose of receiving health, wealth, and happiness, you miss the true gospel. Number 2, the gospel of works. Let me make this perfectly clear. True believers should live holy lives. Amen. True believers have a desire to live holy. But we can't earn salvation through works. Genuine salvation produces works, but works can never produce or keep genuine salvation. Number 3, the grace-abusing gospel. Just because salvation is not by works doesn't mean we can go on sinning. In fact, if you have no desire to make progress in holiness, that's a sign that you may have never experienced the transforming power of salvation in the first place. The gospel The gospel is simple. For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
