In this sermon, the speaker warns that the devil can imitate the power of the Holy Spirit and offers a simple biblical criterion for distinguishing genuine Spirit work from demonic counterfeit. He illustrates the point with the Old Testament account of Moses and Aaron’s staff turning into a snake before Pharaoh, which the Egyptian magicians attempted to copy but were defeated. He then cites Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, emphasizing that true Spirit‑gifted speech will always glorify Jesus, whereas demonic power seeks to glorify man. The message stresses that the content of the message—not the method—is the key indicator. The teaching concludes with an invitation to obtain the resource “Holy Spirit: God Within You” from encounterthespirit.com.

Warning, the devil will try to mimic the power of the Holy Spirit, and you need to know how to tell the difference. Moses delivered the message to Pharaoh, let God's people go. Pharaoh stubbornly demanded a divine sign. That's when Moses instructed Aaron to throw down his staff. Right there, the staff morphed into a snake. Despite the powerful display, Pharaoh remained unmoved. He instructed his magicians to mimic the miracle, and they did just that. However, Aaron's serpent devoured their serpents, proving who truly had more power. That's right. power on their side. So how are we to tell the difference between Holy Spirit power and demonic counterfeits? Though the devil's imitations are nowhere near as powerful as God's miracles, we are given a very simple way to tell the difference. When writing to the Corinthians about the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that they didn't see the Holy Spirit's power through the lens of their former pagan ways, Paul wrote this. I don't want you to misunderstand this. You know that when you were still pagans, you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols. So I want you to know That no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. No paranoia, no being overly critical, no needlessly attacking fellow Christians for being different. Simply put, demonic power simply won't glorify Jesus. Demonic power glorifies man. Holy Spirit power glorifies God. The main issue here is message, not method. Power from the Holy Spirit Will always point to Jesus.
