In this sermon excerpt, the speaker explains that God uses seasons of heartache, loss, and disappointment to test the sincerity of believers' motives. He challenges listeners to examine why they serve and give—whether for human celebration, personal blessings, or out of genuine love for Jesus. The core message is that true service stems from love for Christ; otherwise, the service is either absent or merely superficial.

Chapters

You know, it's in the seasons of heartache and loss and disappointment that God can test your sincerity. Testing those motives. Why do you do what you do for God? Why do you serve? Why do you give? Is it so that we can be celebrated by others? Is it so that we can gain blessing? Or is it because we love the Lord Jesus? Because in seasons of disappointment, in seasons of loss, either you're serving God because you love him or you're not serving him at all.
