Joseph's story shows that obeying God can mean prison, isolation, and misunderstanding instead of comfort. True obedience is measured by faithfulness to God's voice, not by how easy life becomes. Compromising with the world seems easier but costs more than the temporary pain of staying faithful.
Chapters
We say, Lord, I'll go anywhere, I'll do anything, just tell me. And then after we obey, sometimes everything falls apart. Joseph did the right thing. He resisted temptation. He kept his integrity. And what did that get him? Prison, isolation, misunderstanding. Sometimes obedience won't lead you into applause. It'll lead you into adversity. Now, that doesn't mean that you missed God. It means you're right in the center of his will. You think the reward for obedience is comfort? Not always. Many times the reward is more testing. But those who pass that test, those who obey even when it hurts, those are the ones that God can trust with the greater. Don't measure the correctness of your obedience by how easy life becomes afterward. Measure your obedience by your faithfulness. Faithfulness to the voice of God. Doing the right thing might cost you, but compromise will always cost you more.
