When you're unsure what God wants next, don't wait in confusion. Obey the clear commands Scripture already gives you: trust God, love others, serve, pray, worship, live like Jesus. As you do, God will reveal more specific direction to your spirit.
So what should you do if you don't know what God's telling you to do next? Look, we all face those seasons when we're asking God to reveal what's happening next, where He wants us to go, what He wants us to do. But you don't have to live in confusion. Here is what you do. You obey what you know is God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. To trust is to obey. As you obey, the path becomes clear. Obey what's clear. While you wait for instruction about what's unclear. Obey God's generic commands while you await his specific commands. Be holy, witness to the lost, love people, serve at church, pray, worship, and be like Jesus. That we should do those things is absolutely clear from Scripture. And while waiting for specific instruction, don't worry. Trust God to guide you. Obey God's written word and he'll reveal the spoken word to your spirit. Take step 1 while you wait for step 2.
