You can pray and serve faithfully but still feel spiritually drained. The problem isn't doing too little, it's treating faith like a system to master instead of a living relationship with God. When you're striving within the program rather than yielding to the Holy Spirit, you lose purpose and passion.
Chapters
Why does it seem sometimes that even though we're seeking God, even though we're going to church, even though we're praying daily, even though we're reading the word, even though we're serving him, even though we're staying away from those things that we know we ought to stay away from, why does it seem like in certain seasons our souls are weary? Why does it seem like sometimes emotionally and mentally we're drained, like we have nothing else to give? Or you feel like you're just going through the motions of everyday life without purpose or aim or passion. And this is why many of you are tired and fatigued even though you're seeking the Lord. Because you're seeking him, yes, but it's become a ritual instead of a relationship. It's become a program instead of his presence. And many of you are striving in a system instead of surrendering to the Spirit.
