Every believer already has the Holy Spirit's anointing, not just a select few. The goal isn't to get more anointing but to yield to what you've already received. Acts 10:38 and 1 John 2:27 show this is available to all Christians, not reserved for special people.
Many people get it backwards. They think the anointing is for a special few, the person everyone calls so anointed. Think about Acts 10:38, and you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. That is what the anointing is. It's simply the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2:27 says, you have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you. You already have the Holy Spirit. You already carry the anointing. So the goal was never to get more of the anointing. The goal is to yield to what's already been deposited within you.
