A YouTube presentation ("Boost your business in 6 short months!" by Jim Johnson) in which a speaker recounts being previously 'lost' in business — lacking financial tracking, growth metrics, and accountability — and describes gaining direction and certainty through vetted lessons and shared slides (credited to Jim). The speaker emphasizes stopping to get information, accepting accountability, and learning from others' experiences to avoid repeating costly mistakes.

Where I was at when I started, obviously I didn't know where I was at. I was lost, headed towards a wreck. My finances weren't being tracked. My growth wasn't being measured. No accountability, no sense of, you know, just overselling issues. You know, just trying to oversell the issues that are coming on. Extinguishing fires as they're starting and behaving as if we knew it all. And basically that can end up hurting homeowners at the end of, at the end of the day. I mean, shooting from the hip, reacting, needing to sell it right then and there, just having to react, just being reactive. It doesn't work. But I think, you know, I am certain of where I'm going now compared to not knowing where I was standing. I got certainty, you know, where I'm going now, and I got the accountability, you know, if I, if I allow myself to it and, you know, to receive growth. If you're unsure of where you're going, you have to stop and ask if that, that's, that's the first flag you're getting flagged to, to something you don't know. And it's all a lack of information. The information is out there. These guys have vetted everything that they're going to show you. They've, they've, they've, they've felt the pains. They've grown into it. They've, they've paid, they've invested, they've. They've sat there. So we're here learning now. What we're here to take is. It's on the table to just take. We don't have to experience those know. I saw some slides where Jim shared his know with us, and that takes know, and that's what builds us.
